What’s New for the 2025 Kia EV9
The Kia EV9 was all-new in 2024, so there are few changes for the 2025 model year. Updates include a standard sunroof for the Light Long Range trim, new available paint colors, and more. Kia is expected to release a higher-performance GT variant in 2025, but the GT-Line is the top trim to start the model year.
Design
The EV9 has a boxy shape with angular lines and a futuristic look. It features unique vertical LED accent lights in the front, with lower-mounted headlights and chrome accents in some trims. Kia offers a range of wheel options, and some configurations are available with premium matte paint colors.
Powertrain
Kia offers a handful of electric powertrain options for the EV9, depending on the configuration. The base setup features one electric motor with 215 horsepower, rear-wheel drive (RWD), and 230 miles of range. A long-range model is available, offering 201 horsepower and 304 miles of range. The Wind and Land trims come with two electric motors, all-wheel drive (AWD), 379 horsepower, and 280 miles of range. Finally, the sporty GT-Line offers two electric motors with AWD, 379 horsepower, and 270 miles of range. The quickest EV9 offers shocking acceleration, with zero-60-mph times in the four-second range. At the same time, the SUV offers a smooth ride and competent handling for such a large vehicle.

Interior
The EV9 seats up to seven people with a second-row bench seat and six people with captain’s chairs. Synthetic leather upholstery comes standard, along with heated and ventilated front seats. Kia offers rear-seat sunshades, heated and ventilated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, and memory settings.
Technology
A 12.3-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster come standard, and a smaller 5-inch touchscreen handles climate controls. Standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, SiriusXM radio, HD radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, three-zone automatic climate control, and more. Kia’s infotainment interface isn’t as flashy as many others, and its simplicity makes it easier to use and less distracting while driving.
Safety
The 2025 Kia EV9 earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with top scores across the board. Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention warning, rear-seat alert, lane-departure alert, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and more. Available tech includes a blind-spot camera system, a head-up display, a digital camera rearview mirror, and parking assist.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Kia EV9 starts at $56,395 for the base Light RWD trim. The Light Long Range RWD costs $61,395. Stepping up to the top GT-Line model pushes the price to $75,395. A higher-performance EV9 GT is expected later this year.
