2025 Jeep Wagoneer L Pricing, Specs, and Release Date

by Chris Teague

While they’re both premium full-size three-row SUVs, the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer differ in the luxury department, with the Grand variant offering more upscale finishes inside and a more generous list of tech features. That said, the “regular” Wagoneer is nice enough for the money, and the L variant offers a longer wheelbase with more interior space and room for cargo.

What’s New for the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer L

The Wagoneer L has only been on sale for a few years, so Jeep hasn’t made any groundbreaking changes since its introduction. That said, the SUV lost its V8 engine option last year, in favor of Stellantis’ new inline-six-cylinder engine. Changes for 2025 are more subtle, but Jeep made the SUV a better value by adding more standard features across all trim levels.

Design

Like the Grand Wagoneer, the Wagoneer L borrows heavily from the Grand Cherokee in the styling department. It features an almost upright front end and flat sides that give it an imposing look, and Jeep offers a range of wheel choices, depending on the trim. Top models also add chrome exterior accents, but some configurations come with black wheels and exterior trim.

Powertrain

In a normal world, losing a V8 engine option would be a real bummer, but Jeep’s replacement six-cylinder engine is no slouch. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter mill produces a healthy 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear- or four-wheel drive. Jeep’s “Hurricane” six-cylinder engine doesn’t make the iconic V8 noises, but it’s plenty powerful, and the beefy torque figure gives it a good amount of “grunt” for getting into and out of trouble off-road. That said, the Wagoneer’s overall size makes it a bit awkward on the trails, especially in narrower passages.

Interior

It might not be as nice as the Grand Wagoneer, but the standard Wagoneer is more than nice enough for most people. It offers standard leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and more. More expensive trims step up to Nappa leather upholstery, and heated second-row seats are available.

Technology

A 10.1-inch touchscreen comes standard, along with a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa functionality, voice controls, SiriusXM radio, USB ports, and three-zone automatic climate controls are also standard. Jeep offers a 10.25-inch front passenger-side touchscreen, a 19-speaker McIntosh stereo, a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 10.1-inch touchscreens, and wireless charging.

Safety

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer missed out on a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but it comes reasonably well-equipped with advanced driver-assistance technologies. They include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, forward-collision warnings, parking sensors, and hill-start assist. Available features include automatic windshield wipers, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, a head-up display, and more.
