Though it resides in a somewhat mundane corner of the automotive world, the Jeep Compass is one of the only models in its class to offer legitimate off-road capability. It also offers a solid powertrain and a comfortable interior.

What’s New for the 2025 Jeep Compass
Jeep didn’t make many changes to the Compass for 2025, and neither of the updates bode well for the SUV’s future on the market. The automaker discontinued the Latitude Lux trim and cut the standard infotainment screen size to 8.4 inches.
Design
The compact SUV segment is packed with options, but they’re all generally in the same vein aesthetically, with unoffensive styling and features. While the Compass doesn’t go overboard, it differentiates itself with a more aggressive shape. The more off-road-oriented trims feature beefy all-terrain tires, and, in typical Jeep fashion, the Compass is available with graphics and appearance packages that make it stand out even more.
Powertrain
The Compass is available with one powertrain option for 2025. It includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 200 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive (4WD) is standard. The four-cylinder engine feels lively, and it has plenty of power for most situations. The eight-speed automatic transmission is generally refined and does its job well, and the Compass’s standard 4WD gives it a good amount of off-road prowess, especially for the class.

Interior
The five-seat Jeep Compass comes standard with cloth upholstery, but synthetic and genuine leathers are available. Top trims get heated and ventilated front seats, power seat adjustments, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. While the front seats are spacious, comfortable, and supportive, the back bench could use more shape and padding. Additionally, three adults across will absolutely feel the pinch of limited space, though two can ride comfortably. Cargo space checks in below average for the segment, at 27.2 cubic feet behind the back seats and 59.8 with the rear bench folded flat.
Technology
The 2025 Compass comes standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. Six speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, USB inputs, and more are also standard. While the base screen is smaller than before, Jeep offers a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, which pairs with a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. The Compass is also available with an Alpine stereo, wireless charging, Amazon Alexa functionality, navigation, HD radio, and more. The Uconnect infotainment interface is easily one of the best around, offering an intuitive and responsive experience with plenty of great features.
Safety
The 2025 Compass hasn’t been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) yet, and its predecessor missed a Top Safety Pick award. That said, the SUV gets a reasonable number of standard driver aids, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-attention warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and pedestrian/cyclist detection. Available tech includes adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera system, traffic-sign recognition, and more.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Jeep Compass starts at $25,900 for the base Sport trim. The top Trailhawk starts at $32,990, and most variants are available with a wide range of added-cost options and accessories.
