What’s New for the 2025 Cadillac XT4

The 2025 model year will be the last one for the Cadillac XT4, and it’s going out with a whimper. It is largely a carryover model. The base Luxury trim is no longer available, and the two remaining trims, Premium Luxury and Sport, come standard with the Active Safety Package.

Design

In terms of design, the 2025 Cadillac XT4 looks like a smaller version of the XT5. It has the signature Cadillac vertical daytime running lights and taillights, and it has a more upright stance with strong horizontal lines. While the XT4 doesn’t have any true appearance packages, it does have a few “accent” packages, which include different wheels, body decals and blacked-out trim pieces. You can choose between Blue, Bronze and Red accent packages. Wheels come standard at 18-inches, but 20-inch multi-spoke wheels with dark, red, bronze and polished finishes are available.

Powertrain

There is only one powertrain option on the 2025 Cadillac XT4: a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and it’s available with either a front- or all-wheel drivetrain. The EPA estimates that the FWD model will get a city/highway/combined fuel economy of 24/29/26 mpg, and the AWD model gets 23/28/25 mpg. When equipped with the towing package, XT4 can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Interior

The first thing you’ll notice when you get behind the wheel of the 2025 Cadillac XT4 is the 33-inch LED display, which flows from the gauge cluster to the infotainment system. Leather seats come standard, and you have light and dark color options. The XT4 seats five, and offers generous cargo capacity for its petite size. You’ll get 22.5 cubic feet behind the rear seat, and up to 48.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded flat. A Cold Weather Package adds heated front and rear seats as well as a heated steering wheel, and heated-and-ventilated front seats are available. A power sunroof is also available.

Technology

In addition to the large gauge/infotainment screen on the 2025 Cadillac XT4, you get standard tech features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a hands-free power liftgate, seven-speaker audio system, Google built-in operating system, personalized profiles for each driver’ settings, and natural voice commands. Available tech features include a head-up display, massaging front seats, a rear camera mirror, wireless phone charging, and a 14-speaker AKG audio system.

Safety

With the 2025 model year change of making the Active Safety Package standard, the 2025 Cadillac XT4 essentially comes with all the safety tech that’s available on this SUV. That includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a 360-degree camera, rear pedestrian alert, side bicyclist alert, traffic sign recognition, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic emergency braking, and intersection automatic emergency braking. The XT4 gets an overall 5-Star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and it gets Good ratings across the board from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It misses winning any Top Safety Pick awards because it hasn’t been crash tested with the new, more stringent procedures.
