What’s New for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV

Cadillac gave the Escalade a midcycle refresh for 2025, which included new interior and exterior styling, revised tech features, and new wheel options. The separately previewed all-electric Escalade IQ also landed for the model year.

Design

The Escalade ESV features the same styling elements of its shorter-wheelbase counterpart. They include a large grille with an oversized Cadillac badge, vertical LED daytime running lights, and neatly integrated safety sensors in the front fascia. Like the standard Escalade, the ESV has tidy styling without overdone badges and logos, and Cadillac offers a range of large wheel options in sizes up to 24 inches.

Powertrain

While it offers other powertrains in the base Escalade, Cadillac sells only with a 6.2-liter V8 engine. It produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and sends it to the rear or all four wheels through a ten-speed automatic transmission. It’s not exceedingly quick, but the Escalade ESV’s bulky V8 gets it moving enthusiastically when asked, and it makes a pleasant roar while doing it, though the SUV’s healthy sound insulation mutes most of the fury. The Caddy is also more agile than expected, and it can hold its own on a twisty mountain backroad.

Interior

The Escalade seats seven people across three rows with second-row captain’s chairs, and up to eight passengers with a second-row bench seat. Synthetic leather upholstery comes standard, along with heated front seats and heated second-row seats. Higher trims add genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Cargo space for the ESV measures 41.5 cubic feet with the third row upright, 94.1 cubic feet behind the second-row seats, and up to 142.8 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded flat.

Technology

The Escalade ESV is a screen-heavy luxury SUV, offering a 16.9-inch touchscreen and a 14.2-inch digital gauge cluster. To the left of the driver’s line of sight, Cadillac fits another 7.2-inch touch-based control panel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 19-speaker AKG sound system, three-zone automatic climate controls, and much more are also standard. Cadillac offers a 36-speaker AKG sound system and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 12.6-inch displays.

Safety

The Escalade hasn’t received full crash testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since the 2020 model year, but it comes standard with a comprehensive list of advanced driver-assistance technologies. They include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warnings, lane-departure warnings, a surround-view camera, a safety alert seat, teen driver mode, parking sensors, and more. Super Cruise, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, a rearview mirror camera, night-vision assist, and other features are available.
