The A8 has long been Audi’s flagship sedan, offering a high-end interior, smooth ride, and the latest tech. The S8 builds on that foundation with a wildly powerful V8 engine and more aggressive styling, but it retains the highbrow luxury features and attitude that makes the normal car special.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi S8
Audi gave the S8 more standard features for the 2025 model year, including a new Homelink system built into the rearview mirror. The car also gained traffic-sign recognition, new 20-inch wheels, and more. Buyers adding the Executive Package now get matrix LED headlights and a head-up display.
Design
While it’s still a long, low executive sedan, the S8 oozes a subtle level of aggression that is hard to miss. It comes with 20-inch wheels, and Audi offers appearance packages that open the door to other designs.
Powertrain
The 2025 S8 gets a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 making a whopping 563 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. That prodigious output reaches all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. While it’s a big car, the S8 reaches 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.2 seconds, rivaling Audi’s RS6 Avant, with which it shares an engine. Adaptive air suspension is standard, giving the car lively, responsive handling when needed, but it also offers a smooth, luxurious ride when asked.

Interior
The S8 seats five people across two rows. Valcona leather upholstery comes standard, along with heating, massaging, and ventilation for the front seats. Ventilated and massaging rear seats and a heated steering wheel are available. The car offers a fantastic amount of space in both rows, and the back seat has a true chauffeur-like experience, with acres of head and legroom and a luxurious bench with great padding and support. Though slightly smaller than some competing models, the S8 also has decent cargo space, at 12.7 cubic feet. It also comes standard with a powered trunk lid.
Technology
Audi equips a dual-screen infotainment system with a 10.1-inch upper display and 8.6-inch lower unit. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is also standard, running Audi’s fantastic Virtual Cockpit system. The cluster can show maps, audio information, vehicle performance numbers, and more. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto come standard.
Safety
The 2025 S8 hasn’t been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as of this writing. Despite that, it comes with a long list of standard driver aids that include automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, pedestrian detection, traffic-sign recognition, a surround-view camera, automatic wipers, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, rear automatic emergency braking, and other features are available.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Audi S8 starts at $125,300 before adding any of the long list of available options. Pricing comes out to $126,595 after the $1,295 destination charge.
