The subcompact Jaguar E-Pace has a stylish interior and engaging handling, but it falls short of the bar set by its compelling European rivals. Its high price, below-average fuel economy, and lack of interior space have made it a hard sell in such a competitive segment. As a result, Jaguar is discontinuing the model after the 2024 model year to focus more on electric vehicles and higher-end models.

What’s New for the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace
Though the E-Pace is slated for the chopping block, Jaguar gave it a few improvements for the 2024 model year. It got an updated infotainment system with a more intuitive interface and a longer list of standard features.
Design
The E-Pace follows its larger F-Pace counterpart’s styling cues, bringing a large mesh grille and sharp LED running lights in the front. It’s a curvy SUV with a sporty stance and large wheels that give it an aggressive look. Around the back, the E-Pace features slim taillights and a diffuser-style lower bumper accent.
Powertrain
Jaguar equips a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 246 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque in the 2024 E-Pace. Power reaches all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. That output makes the E-Pace lively, but it’s far from the quickest or most engaging vehicle in its class. The ride quality is firm, which can feel uncomfortable over rough roads, but the tradeoff is agile handling and a fun driving experience. Fuel economy lands at 20 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg combined, relatively weak numbers for a subcompact luxury SUV.

Interior
Leather upholstery comes standard for 2024, along with heated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, memory functions, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Jaguar loads up the E-Pace out of the box, so there is little need for added-cost options, but buyers can choose Windsor leather upgrades and add ventilation to the front seats. The SUV offers good front-seat space, but the second row may feel cramped for taller passengers. Cargo space measures 22.4 cubic feet with the rear seats upright and 49.5 with the second row folded flat.
Technology
All 2024 E-Paces get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with navigation, an 11-speaker Meridian sound system, USB inputs, wireless charging, HD radio, SiriusXM, and more. Jaguar’s most recent infotainment updates have made its Pivi Pro system much more intuitive to use and less distracting while driving.
Safety
The new E-Pace hasn’t been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but Jaguar equips a generous number of standard safety features. They include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, driver-attention monitoring, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and parking sensors. A head-up display and a digital camera rearview mirror are available.

Pricing and Release Date
Pricing for the 2024 Jaguar E-Pace starts at $50,775 and climbs slightly higher with the handful of added-cost options.
