The CarGurus verdict
With the 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line, the automaker makes a credible car for driving enthusiasts who still want sedans that are thrilling to drive.
In a shrinking car market, the traditional sport sedan is increasingly rare. Designed and developed for people who prefer on-pavement performance but need passenger and cargo practicality, only a handful of dedicated non-premium sport sedans still exist, and most of those barely qualify for membership in the club. Enter the new 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line, which addresses both performance and practicality in a compelling midsize package and at a bargain price.

What owners say
"Overall, drivers are very pleased with the 2021 Hyundai Sonata, highlighting its smooth driving experience, safety features, and strong fuel economy. Many appreciate the stylish design and the excellent powertrain warranty. However, some reviewers noted minor issues like cabin noise and frustrations with optional features requiring an upgrade to get full functionality."
The 2021 Sonata is a great car. The car’s features with the dashboard design, bose speakers, premium seats and sunroof are the best. It looks good on the road. The features are an upgrade from the Elantra but I would recommend.
March 29, 2026Dream come true, very nice features and a super smooth ride
October 10, 2025After test driving a Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord, I kept going back to the Sonata. The car drives really smooth and has many features I was looking forward. I was not really impressed with the other vehicles I drove, especially since they were priced higher than the Sonata. Hyundai had definitely made an improvement in the last couple of years!!

November 8, 2023Cabin noise but I don’t mind it’s relaxing. Limited is fast too in sport mode. Love ambient interior lighting.
December 9, 2022I bought my car back in February, I have had no issues with it as of now. It drives nice and has some very luxury features for such a mainstream vehicle .
May 25, 2024The car was great from the driving experience, all the safety features, the fuel economy, the stunning looks, and the best part of all its power train warranty ! Highly recommend this car to anyone and everyone
February 8, 2021Love my Hyundai Sonata Limited. Comes with all the bells and whistles, drives great and is very comfortable.
August 29, 2023I considered the Hyundai Sonata SEL and the Kia K5 LXS. While the two cars are based on the same body, the Sonata has a few more convenience features than the K5 in the base package (power drivers seat, remote start, adaptive cruise control). With the Hyundai customer cash incentive, it also turned out to be cheaper than the best price I could negotiate for the K5.
March 17, 2021Super nice car, Worth every dime.alot of technology for the money
April 26, 2021Plenty of features that come standard and I have the Nline with plenty of power.
