Acceleration is lacking but, overall, performance, comfort, mileage are good! Price was fair. Would recommend as a city car.

Overall:

Base Elantra has good pick up 0-40 mph, but after 40 it strains. Base model is a good handling car and good value if buying it cheap. But new - people should opt for the turbo.. 2-3k more but includes better interior, push button, and way faster engine.

Understated sportiness with smooth & responsive performance. Great interior with loads of features. Fly under the radar car.

Too expensive but can get Tech package. Excellent power and storage. Looks sharp. More than you would expect in an Elantra price point. Really a different car. Costs a lot to get it with the Tech package and not many around. Like the best house on a cheap block.

2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport FWD Review
Excellent performance and value with a 6MT. Fuel economy could be better and the lack of a Tech Package with the 6MT are negatives for this car. The responsiveness of the 1.6L turbocharged engine and the multilink, independent rear suspension make up for the lack of bells and whistles with the 6MT. The car is a joy to drive if you like driving. While not overly flashy like some competitor cars in this class (see: the garishly angular Honda Civic), it is probably the best looking vehicle in the Hyundai North American lineup. The car has euro-style which makes sense as this car was designed for the European market where it is sold as the i30. With 201 horsepower and 195 ft-lb of torque available from 1500 rpm on up and almost zero turbo lag the Elantra GT Sport with the 6-speed manual transmission should rank quite high on the hatchback rankings. The car has yet to see widespread sales in the United States which makes the car a bit of a unique choice at the present time of November 2018.

Front Seats Ranked 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 Sport Hatchback worse.
"The front seats in the Elantra GT Sport are excellently bolstered but intelligently adjustable without being too stiff."
Back Seats Ranked 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 Sport Hatchback worse.
"."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 Sport Hatchback worse.
"The Elantra GT Sport and the Elantra GT have the most cargo capacity of any car in this class. There is space aplenty for all your stuff. The back seats fold down for maximum capacity. There arent any protrusions or physical impedance to placing items in the cargo area. Items fit easily thanks to a cargo space that is laid out more intelligently than cars like the Mazda3."
Value Ranked 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 Sport Hatchback worse.
"For power, handling, driving enjoyment, cargo capacity, occupant comfort, and bang for the buck the Elantra GT support is superior to the Mazda3 and other competitors in every way."
Would Buy Ranked 2018 Mazda MAZDA3 Sport Hatchback worse.
"This car offers much greater value than the Mazda3. Superior styling inside and out seals the deal."
