The ever-beautiful Audi TT is back for more of the same in 2012. The next round of changes are not due until 2014, but if you ask drivers, Audi would be messing with perfection if it strayed too far from the path blazed with the 2011 overhaul. I would ask them myself, but they're all apparently too busy out enjoying their new TT to leave even a single review.
This probably sparks the interest of only a few conspiracy theorists, but this is the first time I have ever run across a car that completely lacks consumer reviews for the latest 2 model years. Digging deeper shows much of the same, and reveals the reason why nobody bothers leaving a review on the standard websites - drivers truly are just too busy enjoying and modifying their TT, and have yet to run across any serious problems that Audi didn't handle.
So what did Audi do to the TT for 2011 that made it such an enthralling superstar? Somewhere between the newly standard leather seating and restyled front grille, Audi gave the TT the self-esteem it needed to be the genuine sports car that it always was with the addition of 11 horses and 51 lb-ft of torque. The few drivers who speak up about their opinions on the message boards call it a long-awaited beautiful symmetry, praising Audi's decision to return the TT to uncompromising glory.
The only thing left on the driver wish list is the return of the V6. Since the dual-clutch automated manual provides 6 gears of smoothly controlled sailing if you so choose, drivers don't especially miss the option of a strictly manual transmission when there's something else that does the job so eloquently. Promising up to 31 highway mpg, the turbocharged 2-liter four-banger offers absolutely adequate acceleration for a bit of everyday thrill with the security of standard all-wheel drive, and the upscale suspension only adds to the fun you can have with so much grip.
This beautifully balanced bullet is available as a four-seater coupe or two-seater soft-top convertible roadster with surprising sound insulation. An automated top for the convertible is available—otherwise, letting in the sun is a manual affair taking up just about a minute, but doesn't cramp the roadster's 8.8 cubic feet of trunk. The coupe offers 13 cubes, or 24 with the seats folded down, and some drivers feel it is the only way to go—not only does the coupe maintain that distinctive appeal, its lighter curb weight also means that little four-banger gets more bang.
Of course the TT isn't all about looks and performance. It is definitely equipped to fit the bill, too. Sit inside a base Premium Plus and you'll find features like 10-way power front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and an automated spoiler. The Prestige trim notably adds rear parking sensors, heated front seats, navigation with real-time traffic, and a Bose stereo with 6-CD changer or iPod interface. Whichever you choose, you're sure to get a thrill out of the TT's special driving personality - just don't turn those heads too fast!
Sent messages to two dealers regarding Audi TT, a Prestige and Premium Plus. No response. Tried chat: it all goes to same location. No response. Called both dealers, one on two different numbers, neither dealer answered the phone. What's the deal? Are these cars for sale or not?
I have a problem hot starting my car when parked near the seafront but is ok at higher altitude it has only 16.5 k miles on it. It has been back and forth to the dealers and they can't find the fault they have changed the fuel pump and pressure regulator it never shows a fault code. It fires up and idles erratically for a few seconds and then shuts down. If I use freezer on the temp sensor and throttle body it fires up immediately and then runs perfect. Sometimes flooring the throttle will get it to run. This car on its first service 3500miles had sparking plugs and air filter which makes me think there was problem from new. I am the third owner from new your advice would be appreciated.
