The 2023 Audi TT is a perfect expression of motoring enjoyment. There are more powerful sports cars out there, but few offer the blend of comfort and cornering on display in the TT. It also has a modern, upscale cabin with plenty of sleek in-car tech.
The TT is offered in Coupe and Roadster body styles. The Coupe has seating for four and a trunk that provides 12 cubic feet of cargo space. The TT Roadster loses the rear seats, but it gains the retractable cloth top. Though it only has 7.5 cubic feet of trunk space, that number remains consistent whether the top is up or down. That cloth top can open or close in just 10 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph. For 2023, both body styles receive new 18-inch Y-spoke wheel designs but are otherwise largely unchanged.
Unlike the rest of the Audi lineup, which features multiple screens throughout the cabin, the TT’s cockpit is refreshingly simple. The various functions are baked into the fully digital instrument panel, which Audi calls the Virtual Cockpit. It has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and it can display the full Audi navigation system across the entire digital instrument panel.
Other standard features on the TT include dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, leather upholstery, heated seats, power-adjustable seats, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium stereo. The TT Roadster also comes standard with a neck heating vent system so that you can drive with the top down well into the colder months.
An S-Line Competition Package is available ($1,200 in the Coupe, $2,200 in the Roadster) and adds a number of sporty touches. It includes unique 19-inch wheels wrapped in summer performance tires, upgraded suspension, fixed rear wing, black exhaust tips, and upgraded sport seats with a combination of leather and Alcantara.
The Audi TT is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It makes 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with manual mode. In the TT Coupe, this powertrain is good for a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds. In the TT Roadster, that 0-60 time is 5.5 seconds. Both cars return the same fuel economy, which the EPA rates at 23 mpg city, 30 highway, and 26 combined.
There are faster Audi models in a straight line, but where the TT really shines is in the corners. The TT features a sport-tuned suspension and sport brakes
Standard safety features on the TT include front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring. You won't find many of the advanced driver-assistance features found on many other cars today.
Base MSRP for the 2023 Audi TT is $51,200 for the coupe body style. The TT Roadster starts at $55,300. The Audi TT is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.
