Forever Subaru — This was my first Subaru....all I can say, I will only own a Subaru from here on out!!!! This car has caused me no issue, other than the normal, expected maintenance costs. When everyone was yelling about gas prices, I was not affected. This car not only looks good, it has been super reliable!!!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Love everything about this car

Cons: Have no issues

Versatile Car For All New England Weather. —

My first new car purchase, I was sold on subarus from my previous lease of an 07 Legacy. The style is great, exterior is sporty and the interior is laid out very nicely. Power drivers seat is very comfortable, although on long drives my 6' frame gets a little cramped. I liked the stereo at first, but the subwoofer has blown twice since I've owned it and I do not blast my music to extreme volumes most of the time. The design flaw is that the subwoofer is not powered and has no enclosure to create a baffle effect that most aftermarket subwoofers require. The handling in the snow is UNREAL. I've only gone off the road ONCE, and that was due to black ice on a very steep hill. I've gone in 7" of snow on unplowed dirt roads with little problems and only use all season tires. The backseat is small, although it folds down very easily and has enough cargo room for some nice extended trips or moving a few things. The gas mileage is about 27 on the highways and 20 in the city. (Boston traffic is as bad as it gets). It's been a great car and I wouldn't trade it for any other until it's time to get a truck like every other guy from Maine does when he settles down!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Blizzard beater, good handling, only routine maintenance required so far.

Cons: Gas mileage, jerky acceleration at times, harmon kardon premium stereo subwoofer is terrible.

2009 Subaru Legacy Awd. — This is a very affordable car that gets decent fuel economy even with all wheel drive. I like the looks of the car but my kids thought it looked like An older persons car. Guess what... I am an older person...lol. Great value overall. The Harmon Kardon stereo is a little weak but has decent sound.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Looks great, gets 24.9 mpg average and a best of 27.9 mpg. Awd is awesome very responsive steering.

Cons: Small back seat. The car blends in to traffic.

Excellent, If Boring, Awd Sedan — Owned this car for 3+ years. Excellent, boring, AWD sedan. It served its purpose and I enjoyed driving it. Probably the best handling sedan on the road in the snow. My 5th Subaru, so I'm a fan of these cars.

Pros: Great car for the 3 years I had it

Cons: None

Good Daily Driver — I have had this car for three years, and it has served its purpose well. I am getting ready to give it to my 16 year old, and I feel confident that it will protect him. While I don't like the lack of power, I DO like that when in the hands of my teenager. It is a very stylish car, gets good MPG and has a good feature set for the price.

Pros: good looking, safe, AWD is great in cold weather states

Cons: lack of power; you really have to plan lane changes if there is traffic.  Slow throttle response.  I have the black interior and it collects ALL dirt and dust, and don't put a family pet in there...you will have animal hair FOREVER.

Love My Subie — This is my 2nd subaru and I love the way that it handles the road, epecially during the winter. My only gripe is that I wish it had a bit more power. I am getting 25-28mpg with daily mixed commute.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling and AWD

Cons: Pick-up could be quicker.  4-speed trans.

2009 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Se — This car has been great, period. It grips to the snow during the winter, cuts through the spring rain, and glides through the summer's dry pavement. The sleek, slender look of the Subaru Legacy 2.5i SE attracts the most fittest, outdoor enthusiasts in America. To boot, the sound system rocks a Harmon/Kardon 9-speaker system! Great car, great value--for life!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling, AWD, power, tinted windows, sound system, comfortable, sharp looks, great fuel economy, and dependable.

Cons: Slight freeway noise.

Awd Bliss — I love the AWD platform and wish all of my cars had this. Being AWD does come with slightly reduced fuel mileage (I average 25.5mpg), but compared to other cars in it's class, the difference is minimal and extra costs are worth it in snowy areas. The seats are rather firm and the material seems to stain rather easily. Seat pads and covers provide a cheap and easy fix for this. Maintenance is not terrible since it will run off of standard oil, but other repairs can be costly, and Subaru dealers are not quite as common as many other makes. There is ample room in the trunk, and the passenger compartment has plenty of room for most average-sized people. The headlights are very bright and the high-beams are quite remarkable. The Harman Kardon audio system is also a perfect touch, well balanced, sufficiently powerful, and easy to operate.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Symmetrical AWD, 17" Wheels, Harman Kardon audio system, 8-way Power Driver Seat, Sun/Moon roof, Trunk Space, Auxiliary Audio Port

Cons: Firm Seats, Cloth Stains Easily
