The 911 model 997.2, years 2009-2012, is a great model to seek. The IMS problem is no longer, the design and features are slightly different but much better than the 997.1,years 2006-2008. Also, the 997.2, Tech is a little better, transmission Is better, engine has direct fuel injection. If you can afford it, go for the 997.2!

I dont think there is a 911 thats a good value these days, but they are wonderful drivers and rock solid vehicles. Hard to imagine owning anything else after driving them for the past 10 years.

The 997.2 is arguably the perfect blend of modern and analog. A gorgeous 911 with a few modern features but without isolating the driver from the experience. It’s just awesome.

The 997.2 is a great car. The motor was bumped up to a 3.8 and 2009 was the first year of the PDK transmission, a wonderful upgrade plus no more IMS issues. Again, a marvelous car for the money.

991 car vs. 991.2 car: I owned an 07 some years ago, and it is a great car! Just be prepared for high maintenance costs for any porche! I decided today to buy a 2017 base 911 (991.2 model) over a 2014 911 S (991 model). Its more of a touring car but Im looking for comfort. You have to drive all these cars to know which is right for you, but the most thrilling drive is a manual transmission, naturally aspirated car. As a regular car for comfort, however, the 991.2 cant be beat.

I have owned over many Porsches. The 911 is the backbone of Porsches lineup. The standard 911 beats the Corvette in most every category in my opinion except raw power and hard to describe thrill factor the Corvette gives driver. Had this comparison been between a Corvette and a Turbo 911 there would not be many places the Corvette would win me over.
