2009 Kia Spectra Trims and Specs

The 2009 Kia Spectra LX is the base trim for this economy sedan. The LX shares a drivetrain with all of the Spectra trims – a 2-liter inline four mated to either a five-speed manual transmission (23 city/30 highway mpg) or a four-speed automatic (24 city/32 highway mpg) that powers the front wheels. The LX's exterior features 15-inch steel wheels, tinted glass, and body-color door handles, moldings, and rear garnish. The interior features cloth seats, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat.

Taking one step up from the bare-essentials LX base is the 2009 Kia Spectra EX. The EX trim adds air-conditioning, cruise control, floormats, dual rear cupholders, and power windows and locks to the interior. The exterior adds body-color heated power mirrors and remote entry. The drivetrain is the same as the LX's, but the EX has upgraded rear brakes (10.2-inch solid discs) and an option for a four-channel, four-sensor antilock braking system.

If you have a little extra money to spend on your economy Spectra, the 2009 Kia Spectra SX is the trim for you. Its exterior is upgraded with 16-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, a strut tower bar, foglights, a windshield sunshade band, a rear spoiler, and unique front and rear fascias and side sills. The interior upgrades include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, metal-finish trim, metal pedals, and sport seating cloth with door panel inserts.

The 2009 Kia Spectra5 SX is the five-door hatchback trim for this model. It shares a drivetrain with the four-door trims. It also shares features with the SX trim, such as a sport-tuned suspension and a strut tower bar for performance; cruise control, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob on the interior; and foglights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and body-color mirrors, door handles, and rear garnish for the exterior. The two unique additions for the Spectra5 SX are auto-off clear-lens halogen headlights and a center console with padded armrest and dual storage compartments.
