This vehicle He has absolutely been the best vehicle I’ve had. The 3.0 L is a fantastic motor. Put gas it keep the old check and you’ll never have a problem. Extremely dependable… This 2001 Taurus hold it’s it’s value. From what I paid for yeah the Kelley Blue Book is more than one year for it. It gets 100% kiddos. ![]() Looking for a Used Taurus in your area?CarGurus has 3,540 nationwide Taurus listings starting at $2,250. |

I was told it was a replacement for the Mercury Sable. It looks similar, but the model I purchased was little more than similar. No leather seats, no console shift lever, no sunroof, seats are not electric. The seat panels fell off while driving away from the dealership. The speaker system is not as good as the Mercury Sable. All cosmetics and fixable. The suspension is fine and the motor seems strong. The climate control works as do the windshield wipers. |

Good Car With Good Power — I bought this car for two years. it didn't cause any trouble. i like its power, it easy to control. the only cons is it consume gas a little bit more. the good thing is gas not so expensive now Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: it has good size, very good for family Cons: use gas a little bit more |

Understated Design — Unless you have owned a Taurus I don't think you will appreciate one. This car rides amazing, has tons of space, gets good fuel mileage, and will also get up and go when you need it to. The interior has everything that you need and is easy to use. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Reliable, safe car Cons: Seats not very comfortable |

Less Than The Sum Of Its Parts... — I bought this car at a good price, so you get what you paid for... Even when my expectations were not high, it was still disappointing to get a proven model with weak reliability. The major repairs are: 1) Exhaust system - The catalytic converter assembly fails at the flex hose joint. Ford refuses to accept this as warranty. 2) Brake system - Spongy brake pedal, lack of feel, and brakes overheat easily even after performing upgrades. 3) Suspension system - It makes all kind of noises and the springs are prone to sagging and even breaking at the rear. The engine design is from the 60s/70s and it is a very noisy and harsh powertrain. It is an average car at best yet, I know Ford can do better... Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Good interior volume and fairly good sized trunk Cons: Old engine design, hi fuel consumption, lots of suspension problems (mainly the rear), lots of body noise, weak brakes, low reliability, weak handling, and low resale value. |

I Would Definitely Buy Another Tarus — I was always a Chevy girl but when I purchased my Tarus I was so impressed with everything about it that I will definitely buy another Ford. It's well worth the money. Plus this car is all american made!!!!! This is very important to me. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Love everything about this car. Cons: No Cons! |

Don't Buy A 2005 Or 2006 — Too many problems. Something always needs fixing or replacing. I had this car for 4 years. Replaced the transmission once and it just went again. Water pump replaced. Replaced all 4 tires twice. Window switch and motor went. This car was reguarly maintained and only put an average of 10,000 miles/year. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Not much positive. Very average car when it's running well. Cons: Horrible transmission |

Good For Everyday Driving — I like that the car was given to us as a gift. Its really a nice car to drive, but it's not a luxury car. Thats what I really got my eyes on, Luxury cars....(BUICKS) It just needs a few simple things done to it. Tint the windows, buy new tires, thinking Michelin and get rid of these noisy firestone tires. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Easy to drive, great for trips, good on gas mileage. Cons: Hard to see out of the rear window when reversing. Noisy tires |

Great Car — These are very nice cars if you are looking for something cost effecient and plain. There is not a whole lot of shock and aww to the vehicle but it will get you to point a and b with not issues Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Very economical, do not have to put a whole lot of money into these. They are a very low maintenance car. Cons: Plain looking other than that its great |
