There was a great line in "Bring it On" about resting on laurels; noted one of the characters, "Maybe a laurel's a good place to rest." Apparently, Acura must agree, as the 2006 MDX remained almost entirely unchanged from the 2005 version.
The only available engine remained a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 265 horsepower and 253 lb/ft of torque. Mileage stuck at 17 city / 23 highway, as it had since the MDX made its grand entry in 2001. (What does this seem to indicate to you? Redesign for 2007!)
Most buyers of this vehicle opt for the Touring trim. Drivers like the navigation and DVD entertainment systems which are available with that trim. As for allover driving impressions, drivers like the agility of the 7-passenger vehicle, but some have complained about the amount of time it takes to effectively brake. Some love the third-row seat and the ease with which it folds down, but others have complained that it is too cumbersome to handle while balancing groceries and other items-a luxury vehicle producer such as Acura should be able to make this easier for its customers.

I love everything about my MDX. It handles great, has a very smooth drive and is quiet but powerful. Before purchasing my MDX, I test drove numerous suvs but none compared to the acura. Minimal blind spots. Beautiful interior with heated seats. The navigation system has become my best friend! I am meticulous about the maintenance and in return my car still feels brand new. I've been in many other luxury vehicles but I always gravitate to acura. Definitely a good purchase!Apr 08, 2015

A real value and well appointed for its day, which sadly has passed. More current version of MDX has much more features. The good performance and acceleration of the vehicle only possible as designed with the high compression engine requiring premium gas. Still see many of these on the road, a testament to their longevity and durability.Oct 29, 2014

impressed how smooth this car rides. I've had Cherokee jeeps in the past and this is a work of difference. I love the heated seats for winter and sunroof for summer. The removable cargo liner is easy to clean and great for travel. The hitch is nice to have whether you use it or not, it's a nice feature.Mar 14, 2014

Loved it all except gas mileage. Handling was fast and responsive. Great up steep mountains. Good sound system, easy navigation, only year it offered on-star. Very comfortable to drive, it has great storage capacity with roof racks that fit my Thule rack.Nov 04, 2013

I like that the spare tire in underneath the car but the car jack is tiny. The ride and comfort, plus cabin noise are all very good and fair. I enjoy the long trips I took in this car. Front seat passengers have excellent road visibility. Parallel parking this vehicle is quite easy for a large sized vehicle. I enjoyed the flexibility of the folding rear seats and the available 3rd row seats, when needs. The back trunk also works great for small to medium sized dogs, just like a subaru outback. I would encourage buyers to consider a MDX for the acceleration power and the sturdy, comfortable ride compared to the Toyota Highlander with rides like a Camry. Overall, we have loved this car for the last 7 years.Jan 16, 2013

Great truck. Very comfortable and quiet ride. Well worth
the 24.5K I spent for it. I would highly recommend this
model to anyone in the market for an SUV. The GPS display
in the vehicle is sub standard when compared with my
hand held Garmin but it works fairly well to take you from
point to point.Nov 09, 2008

Wow so far so good no problems. great options list. However it is on the sluggish side but still is enough pump to get you to your destination early. Not the best looking of cars but the new one is flawless. It is a honda pilot under all the body and has a great record on repairs (none) so if ur going for this get it!!Jul 15, 2008

Severely bad gas mileage. 12 - 13 is realistic around town.
Other than that, it's a good all around vehicle.Jun 18, 2008

My breaks are stuck. My car starts right up. I just got new breaks and new calipers in the front. It will not shift gears I had to take out the fuse for my break lights because the wont come on. When I use a screwdriver on the shift box ot goes forward and backwards. Any idea what this could be?
Hi everyone, I have a 2006 Acura MDX. It has about 150,000 miles on it. Yesterday I drove back home and parked it in my garage late last night. Then around afternoon (4:00 PM ish) it wouldn't start when the key goes directly to the crank position. After tampering with it for a couple minutes I found that the only way to start it is to put the key in the ignition then turn to the Accessory position. Then wait a couple seconds and turn to the crank position. Does anyone know why my car wont start normally when immediately turning to the crank position?
when i listed my car you say its $1,200 above market value but i see comparable cars listed for more and the kbb value has it listed for more than what i have it listed for?
At what mileage reading should the timing belt be replaced on a 2006 Acura MDX ? The car now has 59000 miles on it. My e-mail address is edmccusker10@yahoo.com
