The 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, which was the high-end model in the Cayenne line, was powered by a turbocharged 4.5-liter V8 engine that generated 450 horsepower. It was linked to a six-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission, which included a special gate so drivers could shift manually depending on driving conditions. A manual transmission was not available on the Cayenne Turbo.
Standard features for the Cayenne Turbo included air conditioning, power windows and door locks, leather seats with power adjustments in the front, a full array of airbags, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a powered rear tailgate, and an AM/FM stereo system with a CD player.
The Cayenne Turbo's list of standard equipment also included a navigation system, zoned climate control for the driver and passenger, a heated steering wheel with mounted controls, heated front seats with power lumbar support, an electronic parking aid, and automatic load-leveling. Options included a power sunroof, wood trim, and a CD changer.
Drivers gave the Cayenne Turbo thumb's up for its responsive handling, firm suspension, smooth turning ability, comfortable interior, and safety features.
