This is my daily driver, and its a great car! It easily conforms to whatever you ask of it, and that makes it a perfect first car. When you drive smoothly and normally, the car is very economical as well as being decently quiet and comfortable. Things arent as great when you drive it faster/harder because of the loud high-revving course engine and the softer suspension means theres a lot of lean. The suspension isnt as soft as the Camrys, which makes me car-sick easily. The limits are very reachable, but controllable when they are reached. Ive fish-tail-ed thrice, but each time was short and I flicked the wheel and regained control. No drama. The power is perfect for a first-car as well. 0-60 is around 10-seconds, with my lowest being 9.47 s. Power is smooth and slow until the needle hits 3,000 rpm. Its like a switch between slow and fast. And the noise shows. When accelerating, it starts slow, then surges at 3,000 rpm and continues the power to red-line. Feels a little faster than it is. Requires flooring it on on-ramps to get up to speed. The car is very reliable, with no major problems. The A/C pump went out a few years ago, but thats average for any car heading toward its 10-year mark. Lately, the car has been using a lot of oil, but I havent been able to find a leak. The cloth seats are easy to clean, but lack support for spirited driving. I find myself using the door or steering wheel (depending if Im driving) to keep myself in place. The headlights arent particularly bright or reach that far, which is a huge negative because I drive during the night a lot. Its inoffensive to look at, with a relatively nice interior. Everything is easy to remember and locate without looking. Audio system is pretty good for its age and price, but seems average when compared to upgraded systems at the time. Overall, a great car for someone looking for a safe all-rounder. Just drive it normally and you wont face the downfalls of this car.
Power Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta better.
"The turbo in the Jetta would smoke the Accord, but the Accord was more consistent through-out the gears in its power delivery."
Handling Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta better.
"Tighter, more Germanic handling with much more feel made the Jetta more fun. The Accord was easier and better to park, but the handling couldnt be pushed like the Accord."
Looks/Style Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta better.
"The nicer paint color, with chrome accents and a more traditional appearance make the Jetta more attractive than the Accord. THe Accord aged better, though, with a more timeless design than the 2000s-looking Jetta."
Front Seats Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta better.
"The support was moderately better and the leather was, in my opinion, better than the cloth in the Accord."
Back Seats Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta worse.
"The space was better and the cushioning was softer."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta worse.
"The Accord is a size-category higher than the Jetta, so it wins for sheer space. The Jetta did have hydraulic hinges for the trunk, which looks nicer and doesnt squish things in the trunk when compared to the fixed hinge of the accord. The Jetta also had a lined trunk that was higher quality and was lined on the top as well as the bottom. But you cant beat all the cubbies and sheer space of the Accord."
Family Car Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta worse.
"The space and overall softness couldnt be touched by the Jettas more performance-oriented nature."
Value Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta worse.
"The space you get and reliability for the same price as the Jetta put the Accord ahead of the Volkswagen."
Would Buy Ranked 2004 Volkswagen Jetta better.
"The air of quality and better handling on top of more luxurious features make the Jetta my pick when compared to the Accord. The Honda wins logically, but the Volkswagen has all of the in-tangibles that make it nicer."

10 Years And Still Getting Me To Work Every Day! — This car was very affordable, had good power and has needed very few repairs. The styling is nothing to remark about and the gas mileage isn't really good. The car has been driven by all my family at one time or another and has been their preferred ride over almost any other car they had at that time.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: After 10 years, this car still has quite a bit of power and is very reliable.

Cons: Suspension is a bit stiff and noisy and the gas mileage around town isn't good.

Clean Title — This is my first vehicle and I must say that this has been a great experience having this car. It has Navigation system and great speakers for when you're wanted to drive and listen to some music. The ride is pretty smooth and the handling is pretty nice. As long as you keep up with maintenance this vehicle will do great!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very reliable and a great first car.

Cons: If you don't keep up with the maintenance you'll have serious issues.

Very Reliable And Overall Awesome Car! — I love this car! It was the first car I bought with my own money once I completed college. It has been incredibly reliable. If the body style of the newer Accords was to my liking, I'd buy another one of these babies in a heart beat.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: So many pros to this car: nice looking, rides smoothly, powerful, very reliable, easy and cost efficient to maintain.

Cons: Not a lot of room in the back seat,  but hey, it's a coupe!

Great Car For A Young Family — A great car for a young family. If you are not into mini vans, want a reliable fuel economy car, this is a great startup car. It drives 300 miles on a full tank. I think the wheel bearings need replacement since when on the road it's somewhat noisy. Not sure if it's the tires or the wheel bearings. All in all it's a great car. We got this car for my daughters first car 2 months early and I drove it those 2 months instead of my Mustang.

Pros: A great car for a young family. If you are not into mini vans, want a reliable fuel economy car, this is a great startup car.

Cons: Not sure there are any other than cons other than it's not a sports car, nor a luxury car.

My Gas Saver — I really love Honda Accords. The one I have just doesn't have many features. I also wish it was a different color. Gold is just too mature for me. I drive 40 miles to work everyday. Its a great car. I bought it when it had 20k miles. I'm at 109k miles and never had a problem with it. I just put new brakes and tires. I never miss a oil change. All miles are highway. I only drove it to work.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great on gas. Performance and handling are top notch. All maintenance and repairs were done  at the Honda service dept.

Cons: Im not crazy about the color and not many options.

Reliable, But A Little Boring. — Have owned Hondas for 30 years and the Accord is a dependable vehicle, goood mileage, well built, and comfortable but Honda is getting a little boring. If they don't shake it up a little soon, I;ll be buying a Kia Optima or Hyundai Sonata !

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: well made, low maintenance, reliable

    Cons: none

Overall A Great Car — Very reliable Overall great car, just wish I was a little more sporty. Performance is pretty good the V2 intake really kicked up the power, I also wish there were more mods, but there really isn't any for this car. But even with about 270 hp I still get 27/32 mpg. Great Car

Pros: Amount of power, still getting ok mpg's.

    Cons: Handling isn't the best
