Changed the oil and filter, also fuel filter. I’ve done this several times no problem.
This time truck will crank (plenty of juice in battery) but the red in lower right flashes.
Removed and put new fuel filter in. Also used yellow fuel purge valve and drained until filter chamber empty.
Turned key 2-3 seconds, didn’t start. Turned key to run -not off position. Could hear injector running. Repeated 3-4 times. Plenty of battery juice cranking but not starting. Seems like it’s not getting fuel, possible air in system or air lock.
Battery loosing juice. Connected charger to try again tomorrow. Never a lick of trouble until today. 94k miles on my 2004, 2500 4x4 w/ 5.9 Cummings diesel.
Thoughts, suggestions please.Jul 05, 2023

this truck is great because its the heavy duty version with the Cummings turbo diesel. the interior is a little on the cheaper side but its roomy. this truck hauls a 25 ft cape horn boat and you really don't notice a lot of difference in its response except when braking or accelerating. The major down side to this truck is trying to park it. if the parking happens to be tight or close quarters you might want to just go park across the street unless you have experience with bigger trucks.Apr 02, 2015

This is a fantastic truck. It has had nearly zero repairs over the many years I have owned it. It has over 250k miles and is still kicking. The Cummins diesel engine is extremely powerful yet provides excellent fuel economy considering the weight of the truck. It comfortably fits three children in the back seats, one of which is in an infant car seat. I will definitely buy another Ram like this when the time comes.Feb 09, 2015

I love this truck. It has plenty of power thanks to the 5.7 L Hemi. Has no
problems getting up to speed, it's easy to get carried away and catch yourself
speeding a little. It comes to a stop when you need it to as well. It's also easy
to control your speed on down grades thanks to the 5-speed manual. Not sure
how a similar truck with an automatic would do. Haven't had any major repairs
yet. Few minor things, bulb replacement, check engine light on... nothing too
serious. I haven't done much work to it other than routine service. I did install
an Air-Raid intake tube to replace the stock tubing. Need to put a performance
exhaust system on it. It's not bad to work on, I have a feeling it would be a
pain to do a tune-up on it. She's a nice looking truck, in my opinion. Fuel mileage
isn't too bad, I usually get 15-17 Mpg depending on how I drive. It's a fun
truck to drive, I love it. Sep 21, 2010

I got this truck used in 2005 with 84,000 miles on it. Shortly after bought found that the a/c was not working correctly. Then within the next two years the body control module went out, which effected the low beam lights and radio function. Now at only 134,000 miles the front universal joint needs fixed replaced and the hub assembly is seized on. Have to cut off the hub assembly which is a $600 part which is good to replace a $65.00 part.Feb 04, 2010

Well it isn't an 06 but It is sweet, I could use some more go fast parts and a few more accessories but I am content with what I have, I want more smoke, some stacks and a lift. But overall I am very happy with the truck.Jul 30, 2009

Cummins is amazing. Best engine on the market, period. More durable than PowerStroke or Duramax. Lasts forever with very few problems. Average overhaul is 350,000 miles compared to Duramax's and Powerstroke's 250,000 miles. It is rated as a meduim-heavy duty engine as opposed to light-heavy duty for Dmax and Pstroke. Not a lie, look it up.Feb 19, 2009

This vehicle is going on 3 years old, and my dad has not
had a single problem or complaint. It is a 4x2, 2500 Quad Cab, auto, and powered by Cummins Diesel.
The truck handles very well with the trailer in tow. (10,000#) and has more than adequate power."
