2004 Chevrolet Tahoe Reviews, Pricing & Specs

This is a great vehicle, lots of room, very comfortable for anyone to drive, and very reliable. I didn't have to replace the breaks until I had over 100K miles! I have used this vehicle to tow a toy hauler, seadoos and cargo trailers. I taught my daughter to drive and felt very comfortable having this be her first car for the first year. This is my fourth Tahoe/Yukon, so I obviously like them. For anyone buying one or looking to get one, just be aware of the gas mileage issue. So to help I would suggest to make upgrades suggest by Stacey David 1)e3 Spark Plugs 2)Cold Air intake 3)Cat Back exhaust system 4)Royal Purple oil (and any royal purple fluid) 5)Computer Program i.e Super Chips 6)New headers and Finally 7) High-Flow Catalytic Converters. All of this should help improve gas mileage and power. And make sure not to carry around unused heavy items. I usually remove the 3rd row when its not needed.Sep 20, 2014

Unfortunately the price on new cars outweighs the cost of making them. OMG WTF the unions are really full of themselves. I can not justify the 600.00 a month car payment. That is half of our mortgage on a 2200 sq ft home. I will be searching for older used and well kept vehicles from now on, they are made better without all of the computer whiz bang addins.Jul 01, 2014

Overall this is vehicle is perfect for the family who doesn't want a minivan but needs the room. Although should you have more than two children you may want to consider the Suburban. Regardless, I have had both vehicles, one or the other over the last twelve years and can't see any reason to get anything else. It offers all the amenities that would come in a luxury vehicle at a more reasonable price. There are so many options to choose from and add on packages you will no doubt, ride in style no matter what your budget. I feel very safe in these vehicles as well as comfortable.Jan 17, 2012

I bought this 04 Tahoe brand new from the dealership and I spent over $18k on additions from the 24 inch rims to the 17" drop down west coast customs t.v., two 7" t.v's in the headrest, indash eclipse dvd/nav with 30 gig hard drive, 2000 watt amp with 4 pioneer 12" subs, PS2, cold air intake, performance chip. Had a sunroof put in because it didnt have one when I bought it. Then a viper remote start car alarm came in handy during the winter months when I was stationed in SLC, Utah. Overall asweet ride that turned heads everywhere I went!Nov 30, 2011

Just so roomy with the Quad seating, good comfort especially for long trips! The Michelin tires don't even seem to be wearing since I took delivery of the Vehicle at 36K miles. Car Handles, Brakes and Tracks true and comfortably. Always feels like you have total control. Feels like a nice safe vehicle for a family trip vehicle and just around town. Braking and handling are excellent, couldn't want any better.Jul 24, 2011

We have owned Tahoes since 2001. This is our 3rd one. Great SUV. Very comfortable ride. Very good quality. Gas mileage not great. The leather heated power seats are the most comfortable I have ever found. DVD system is OK but you have to use the Chev headsets to use and you cant use the headsets for the radio or CD player. This truck handles great and I love the 4wd feature (especially after a big snow storm). Had a few warranty repairs done in first year (speedometer replaced and drivers door realigned) but all seems to work great now and has never left me stranded. I would definitely buy again. The leather heated seats are to die for. I would never buy another vehicle without that feature and the Bose stereo is phenominal! The mileage is average for this size of vehicle. I didn't buy it for the mileage.....it's all about appearance and realiability and I like having some metal around me just in case. Aside from oil changes, and regular maintenance check ups it hasn't cost me a penny extra. This is the best vehicle I've owned so far out of many.Aug 21, 2008
