Jeep is a great car but you have to expect to keep putting money into repairs after 100 miles as everything seems to go bad one item at a time...Jul 14, 2022

I love the spaciousness and the fact that I can be a little rough with it. Some maintenance issues but overall a good car. My car is getting to be high mileage but doesn't seem to be slowing down yet. I think I can keep it for another 5 years possibly.Apr 11, 2015

Parking/ebrake drum configuration is a real bear. Don't understand why they did it that way on this vehicle. The ebrake drum shoes are expensive at $30/pair and they are a pain in the butt to work on. The rest of the brakes on all four corners are disc with ABS so it stops really well. The Quadradrive 4x4 system works wonderfully in the central Oregon ever changing road conditions. Really grips the road well and the system works quietly without any clunking (like my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado K1500) or growling (like my old 2005 Chevrolet Equinox AWD). Turns really tight. Great for maneuvering in small areas.Dec 04, 2013

Love my Jeep. Great in the sand, mud, woods, trails, anything that comes its way! Very nice limited edition package has everything plus more to offer. Lots of power with the 4.7 Liter Powertech engine that gets not to shabby mileage. Not my first Jeep nor will it be the last.Jun 29, 2012

Great vehicle for a new driver and it's no sissy either. The Jeep can handle itself well on and off the road and it is currently stock. The car has a timeless look and is yet to appear dated on the road. I still get people checking it out when I'm driving.Nov 05, 2011

Well, I drove this allot for its mileage ( my other gets 12mpg highway) and well in the winter I found out you can't have to much fun in these, they get stuck very easily. Has the bulletproof 4.0 which is a great engine, and the trans is alright. I love the fulltime 4wd which is just like my other jeeps. Aug 05, 2011

This is a sharp looking vehicle with lots of power
and a capable all wheel drive system. The
electrical issues with this vehicle are
frustrating, though they can be resolved, at a
price of time and/or money. A good vehicle for
towing trailers and hauling cargo.Jan 23, 2011

4.7 V8 delivers nice responsive acceleration
Quality is pretty much average, but better than GM BY FAR!
Apperance is Great! Wonderful styling, VERY comfortable for anyone, anysize (in the front seat that is)
Gas mileage is decent for an SUV with that size V8 (15 city 19-20 Hwy)
Very fun to drive, goes virtually anywhere
Overall, pretty inexpensive to own (as long as you maintain it)

I love my Jeep! I have the 4.7 H.O in this 2002 JGC which
gives alot more power then other WJ's. I actually just need a
few mods done to it to give it 30 more hp to match up to the
new redesigned 2010 4.7. I think that this JGC has comfier
seats then the bran new JGC. Not to mention better steering.
Everyone says the new jeeps have tighter steering. Lets all
keep in mind this is a Jeep and its not meant to be a highway
warrior but a off road warrior. Dec 01, 2009

I seriously loved this car. Good acceleration and braking. Just like american cars the handling was too easy. I had solid build quality but like usual american cars the engine and tranny wasnt so good. I had to replace fuel pump too. 2002 was the best looking jeep grand cherokee in my opinion and in many opinions since it was the best selling grand cherokee jeep had. Gas mileage is bad but its fun as hell to drive. especially when you off road. the thing is a beast. Nov 07, 2009

Basically, I drive my Jeep as if it's a tank. It has a
speedy V8 that can get me in trouble fast enough. But
where it really comes in handy is offroad where more
power is always needed. Get a Jeep and enjoy it!Oct 30, 2009

Good awesome well rounded vehicle for many uses. It is really good for activities like camping, fishing, outdoors. It also has the room for a family. The power is good for towing applications. Decent resale value. All around it is what it is. Sport utility vehicle.Sep 02, 2009

this one's got the 4.7L V8 so it has gobs of power - can easily get into illegal speeds if I'm not careful! Goes pretty much anywhere. Fuel economy is ... not great... but not as bad as expected. 13.9L/100 km is what I get with combined city/highway driving. Handles surprisingly well for its size, but does feel like driving a tank compared to other cars I've driven. Doesn't exactly warm the hearts of the environmental set. Parts are expensive but I'm glad I have the Laredo and not the Limited or Overland - fewer things to break. This one has the Selec-Trac so I can be in 2WD most of the time. Also its an unusual "Olympic" edition - just in time for Vancouver 2010!Aug 03, 2009

This is my 4th vehicle and I LOVE it! It is everything that I have always wanted. I drive it every where I need to go. Do a little off-roading occasionally. Plenty of space inside for passengers, groceries, and even for moving if we move again. I like sporty cars and the great outdoors and this vehicle is perfect for everything I enjoy. It isn't a sexy hot rod but who wants a vehicle that you don't want a scratch on. I don't want scratches either but I don't want to fret, this Jeep is bound to get scratches, especially when joy riding or off-roading. (=D)Jul 08, 2009

Best car I've ever owned...handled really well, took the snow like a champ, I drove around every one else who was stuck last winter...Got rearended by a drunk driver on the highway who was going more than 150 km/hr and if it wasn't for the Jeep would have been hurt, solid constructionJul 07, 2009

Performance- acceleration is very touchy, feels like you're being shot out of a cannon (I love it.) The brakes are also pretty sensitive but not in a bad way. I've had to replace them once already since buying it however. Handles amazingly, wide turns but that might just be my driving.
Build Quality- this thing is built like a tank
Appearance- I love it, can't speak for anyone else.
Cost of ownership - terrible gas mileage but it's worth it.
Fun factor- The most fun for off-roading. This tank can get you through pretty much anything. Jul 01, 2009

Six cylinder engine is alright, but not great. Great dependability. No problems in 7 years. Car drives very well for an SUV. Not done anything to the car except change out a widow motor and spark plugs. Good car overall.Jun 25, 2009

I bought the Jeep in july 2007 after test driving alot of them at work. There are so many things I love about this car, the luxury interior, the ultimately comfortable ride, excellent performance from the 2.7 merc engine and generally a far better built 4x4 than its jap rivals if you cant afford a Range Rover this is the half price alternative with full fat drive.Aug 10, 2008

I love my Jeep because It has sporty performance and handling, off road capabilities, and luxury car interior style. I currently have 36,000 miles and other than preventative maintanence this car has not needed anything extra. I like the 2002 body style much better than the current more boxy design. In short it's fun to drive and the quadra drive II 4x4 system and electronic braking stability control has saved my behind more than once. It gets great gas mileage for a full time 4x4 with an HO 4.7L V8 at 18-22 MPG pending that you feed it the 93 octane.Jun 28, 2008

Off-roading, snow, ice, and towing are no problem for this car. It does fairly well when it comes to street performance applications, but it guzzles plenty of gas to do so.Mar 30, 2008
