The 3.8 liter engine has been great. I have 3 vehicles with this engine. One has over 200,000 miles on it and still has the pick up as if new. If you look at the typical problems of the Bonneville you’ll find that they are easy to repair. I wish Pontiac and the GM 3.8 liter engine was still in production, but I’ll drive my 3 until they rust to the ground. (There is zero rust on my 2000 Bonneville SLE)

Sleek Domestic Sport Sedan — I love the way it handles and the power is more than adequate for a car this size and the MPG is great on the highway. The 3.8 liter is great and was one of GM's best 6-cylinder engines for many years.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling

Cons: None

To Much Maintenance. — It is the best thing I have ever driven, but that doesn't say much. It leaks coolant, ATF, and oil. As long as you aren't low on any of the leaking fluids, it runs great! But I think its time for something new.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I'm sure it was a great car when it was new. It still looks fairly nice but there are quite a few rust spots.

Cons: Rust and leaks.

All Around Good Car — Despite one month where everything seemed to go wrong for this car, it's been very reliable. It gets from point A to B and only needs gas maybe once a week, depending on the demands. Usually it can average 300 miles before having to fill the tank. Acceleration is perfect for a car like this, especially when the need to 'gun it' really isn't necessary. Braking and handling are good too. It rattles some around 55-60 mph, but it's not too bad.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This car is awesome in that it gets really great gas mileage.

Cons: The rattling and occasional squeaky brakes.

Pontiac..what Could You Ask More For In A Car? — Its a great car with alot of great qualities. Fully loaded with leather heated seats and premium sound. Air ride suspension and such a smooth ride. Great performance with GM 3800 series engine. Plenty of room for the whole family plus more!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great looking car and great performance

Cons: Power windows went out quick and No CD player.

Love It. — Good acceleration for being such a heavy car. Car rides well and haven't had a problem with it yet. Gas milage is decent and overall is a blast to drive. I'm the third owner and the car has 110000 miles and is still running well.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Decent performance, and syling is great

Cons: Average gas milage, large vehicle

01 Bonneville — Majority of parts are low quality, and all gm intake maifold gaskets on all new vehicles leak after so long. The tranny needs tune ups every once in a while i think too or just put high perforformance stuff in it. It looks great when i wash it. Ha ha I'm a detailer.

Pros: power

Cons: tranny
