Specially designed for people who want to be a race-car driver in their next life, the 2001 Honda S2000 is not only a powerful driving machine, it also (relatively speaking) has good gas mileage.
The sleek and sporty exterior combined with the minimal interior is made to make drivers smile, and passengers wild.
Consumers like this vehicle because it looks like something fancy, yet it still maintains the traditional Honda standards. Fun to drive, economical to own, built to last, and less expensive than the competition. This car is designed to build your spirit.
For about $20,000, you'll have a great ride.
What owners say
"Overall, Honda S2000 owners really enjoy the driving experience, mentioning its impressive handling and fun-factor. They love the high-revving engine and sporty feel, especially in terms of acceleration and cornering abilities. However, some drivers found the car lacks low-end torque and can be cramped for longer trips, which may not suit everyone's needs."
True Perfection. Revs like a Suzuki GSXR. Corners damn near like one too. Very comfortable for a tiny car. Of course, you also get Honda's bulletproof reliability and tight fit & finish. Everything feels like quality. It's tough to stop smiling when you get out of this sweet ride. Drive it like you stole it.
August 31, 2008handling is incredible, acceleration not bad with 240 hp and little weight, braking I changed for circuit so its great now, its a Honda so I've had 0 issues in 8 years, maybe just the clutch that gets stuck a little. appearance is still beautiful. ITs fun and easy to maintain, can't beat it.
August 21, 2009Quite possibly the best handling car in it's class with one of the smoothest 6 speeds I've ever driven. Wave goodbye to overpriced Boxters and Z4s whose performance falls short. This is a pure roadster with Honda reliability. You have to give props to Honda for giving their all in this car. Happy 50th bday! 9000rpm, 120hp/L, Front Midship RWD. This car is amazing.

October 24, 2008An enthusiasts delight, best to drive it like you stole it. Probably the best manual gearbox I've had, rifle bolt precision with short throws.
May 12, 2008If your into convertibles or sporty coupes than this is the car for you. Simply put it is a masterpiece of engineering by Honda. There was so much research and development that it vexed tuners for several years after its release on how to obtain true performance gains. Everything about the car is is in tune to the drivers needs and wants. Lets start with the simple yet tasteful leather interior with comfortable sport bucket seats that hold you in place when really attacking those corners :D. The digital dash keeps the driver up to date with everything going on with their driving experience with simple and in no way subtle digital read outs. no eyeballing the needle in this baby! All of the Honda s2000's come with a 6spd close gear ratio transmission that was well built from day one and only improved upon there after. The close ratio gears means you will always be at the exact rpm when you want it :). the car will never feel strained no matter how easy or hard you drive it. This car takes to the road like flipper to water. These cars boast a modest 2.0 ltr 4 cylinder engine with a not so modest 250hp!! to put things in perspective that is is about as much power as your average turbo charged car. The 2.0 s2000 engine has a whopping 9,000 rpm rev limit making power all the way to the end. "average car is 6-7000rpm" This might be the masterpiece of this beauty right here. a race built engine which utilizing Honda's greatest accomplishment. V-tech which is a variable cam system which for the sake of this article will be described only as the Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde of engine performance. With the wind in your hair feel, the tight and precise cornering, and care free drive ability of the car. This car should make anyones wish list for a sport compact to hit the streets in.
October 2, 2009Two cars in one; keep it below 6000 rpm and it's a spirited little convertible, but run it up to 9000 and it's a savage beast. The handling is amazing, and it never fails to induce a grin, especially in the summer with the top down. The only thing I'd change is the rear plastic window (glass on later models) that scratches and fades and makes it hard to see out the back. Just another reason to keep the top down, I guess!
October 28, 2008It's a rwd roadster, fitted with a hi-comp 4 banger that screams to 9k rpm, and it's built by Honda. Can't get much better than that. Not super fast by any means but the driving experience is first class.
July 7, 2008This car handles like no other because of its compact size! The power from mid to high RPM's is incredible! Definitely not your average 4-cylinder!
May 24, 2008The S2000 features a front-mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout with power being delivered via a Torsen limited slip differential mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The car is constructed using an X-bone monocoque frame which is extremely rigid, improving passenger safety and handling. high output of the engine, the unusually high redline, the balanced handling, and the smooth gearbox.
December 26, 2007Great car for it's intended purpose but wasn't for me.
