I just love this little truck ! It is quite comfortable . The 4.0 V6 scoots it along very impressively with my standard bulletproof transmission. For being 19 years old, it still looks contemporary and modern, while using engine technology that has been around a long time, also being very bulletproof. Thank you Car gurus for helping me find the exact specs I have been looking for...like a 4.10 axle ratio, a standard trans. a 4 liter V6, the four doors, and...a good price !

It was ok. It needed some work, but the price was too high for the condition of the truck.

It Will Do Vehicle — This is nice looking truck. This is our second Ford Ranger. Good round-about rig for local commuting. Holds a 12 foot aluminum boat for fishing our local lakes. It gets okay gas mileage. Drives well in the rain. Good radio.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very nice color and body style.

Cons: Sluggish transmission

Small — I don't like much about this truck. It's small all around, it is cheaply made, and the extra four miles to the gallon you get over a similar year full size truck or SUV is not worth the sacrifices in size.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It's a truck so you can throw things in the bed

Cons: Tiny back "seat", poor fuel economy

Great Looking And Dependable 4wd Ranger! — This is a beautiful truck with 4wd power, power windows and locks, and a dependable engine. The camper shell adds both looks and style, as well as practical use for carrying cargo from the store, or golf clubs!!! No mechanical problems and well maintained.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Excellent truck that has 4wd power. Really nice looking four door with trailer package.
Beautiful red color with matching camper shell and charcoal interior.  Stylish stepside. Well maintained.

Cons: Four wheel drive cuts down some on mileage.

Nice Little Truck. Gave Good Service 8+ Years. — Seems like electrical issues are the only problems. Good engine. It is ready for 100,000 mile routine maintenance and still idles good. Get good mileage from the tires (45,000). Clutch was replaced at 97000 miles, so can't really complain. Only major part to fail so far was the alternator at 80,000 miles. Went ahead and replaced the ball joints, so expect it to go to the next milestone of 125,000 without major expenses.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: No problems with the engine block.  Runs smooth after 98K.   Have had issues with emission sensor, oil pressure sensor.  Replaced alternator at 80K.  With regular maintenance, this is a reliable vehicle.

Cons: Not real strong on hill climbing.

Its A Good Running Truck — Had to put a clutch in it but it was because of the first owners driving habits. And I also had to replace the leaf spring hangers on both sides in the rear. Great on Gas I can get 24 to 25 on the highway. in the city it pulls about 20. Its different to drive than my Favorite S-10

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: works good for light work

Cons: had clutch issues when i first got it but it wasnt nothing unexpected
