98 Ranger — Just bought the ranger and so far it has been fun to drive. and even with 205K its still running strong. Minimal rust and body damage but there is some. Being a stick shift it gets great gas mileage. Not much performance but thats not the purpose of it.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Stick Shift, Gas Mileage

    Cons: No Back seat

Ford Ranger — the look of the truck was somewhat good looking but after i got it and put some rims and tires on it, it looked really sweet. it was somewhat noisy in the cab. In my case i spend a lot of money to fix all the things tht were wrong with my truck and the gas mileage was the same as a full size pickup which sucks

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: could haul anything and after fixing everything the vehicle ran awesome for me i loved it and will miss it a lot

Cons: the power going onto the highway sucked.  could never get up to 65.  and was somewhat noisy going down the road

Good Solid Truck — I love it because it can go anywhere because of the big tires and its 4x4. i fly a big 3x5 American flag off the back. 4.0 V6 is enough power for what i do. WISH IT WAS LIFTED!! Its pretty fun to drive, though.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: 4x4

    Cons: Gas milage

Reliable And Low Cost Maintainance. — reliable transportation. Not a good work vehicle. Can't hide much in the cab. The 4 cylinder doesn't get the greatest gas mileage. Transmission doesn't shift smoothly. I've taken this vehicle, with high mileage, on a long road trip without a break-down. Would definitely buy another one!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fits in any parking spot. No blind spots.

    Cons: gas mileage

Best Truck I Have Ever Owned — This is by far the best truck I have ever owned! 4cly 5spd, I used to take it off road and beat the crap out of it in college and high school. Brother hit some black ice and went head on into some K-rail on the freeway without his seat belt on and walked away (the truck still ran great). We had the frame straightened and replaced a fender, hood, grill, and bumper. Still drive the truck everyday and pull a 18ft car hauler and a utility trailer with it regularly. It is at about 280,000 miles and still running strong. Have had no mechanical problems with this truck!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

    Pros: It does anything

    Cons: Nothing Great Truck

Recommended — Love it becuase its a little 4 cyl. so it uses the same amount of gas as my chevette did. It is a two seater which means I don't ahev to drive friends around, I don't have to pay movers, less windows to scrape in the winter, heats up fast too!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: its litle adn has a step side for my short height

Cons: washing out the truck bed, it slants towards the cab.

The Ranger Is A Great Little Truck — Great little truck. Could have used a little more power and needed four wheel anti-lock breaks. Like the size of the truck to get through tight spots but doesn't have the cargo space of a full size truck. The cab was just big enough for me to fit in as I am 6'-6". Fun to drive!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Good size for getting through tight spots, great fuel economy.

Cons: Small cargo area, needs more power.

1998 Ford Ranger — Minor faults that appear to be common in fords - blend door broke so truck only blows hot air. Besides that, this is a great truck. Mine is 12yrs old with 184k. With regular oil changes and a little tlc, this truck is still going strong!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Sturdy, reliable

    Cons: Blend door easily broken

Good Work Truck — Its ok. great offroad, not enough weight in the back, if you give it much gas at all, you can smoke the tires. gets really bad gas mileage even though its a just a v6. dont get one that has been totaled.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Offroad

    Cons: gas mileage

Light Rear End — Quick in acceleration No governor which means top speed is 118 Decent gas mileage Fun to drive Five Speed it's pretty quick on a cold-start and has 4:10 posi gears in the rear end. gotta love it on a 4-banger

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: quick

Cons: low-end torque in mid-range speeds
