Brakes good, good pricing, accelerates well, really good steering, fun to drive, good stereo, exterior is good, except for a few minor dents. Only 102xxx miles on it, so its got a long time to go, only big problem is when you turn, you hear a little squeaking/rattling noise. It's a great car for a daily driver, it gets awesome gas mileage. I bought the car hoping to be able to do an engine swap or boost it, but now I'm looking to just get a different car, hopefully a 240sx. It's been a fun car to have, reliable, not many problems. It is the DX, so its got the d16y7 which means no VTEC, so performance wise its on the low end, but it has lots of potential, and if i wasn't looking for another car, it'd be a fun car to mod. I have a '97 Honda Civic Coupe DX. It's painted a custom light blue. I put another engine in after the piston rings blew... Guy that had it before me didn't take care of it. I installed a B&M shortshifter, cold air intake, strut bar, etc. It accelerates pretty well for a 1.6L, and I can stop on a dime thanks to a set of 205/40/ZR17's. I put in a Skunk2 mega power cat back, and a Fidanza Stage 1 Street clutch. Exhaust is awesome, but I was dissapointed by the clutch. Gets about 35MPG or so, and it's a blast to drive! Aug 26, 2008

I bought this car to get to school/work with the high gas prices, instead of the mustang. The car was an EX model which had power everything, with a sunroof. It had a 1.6 litre 4 cylinder engine with SOHC vtec and a 5 speed trans. I had 17" borbet rims with BFG 195/40/17 tires on them, but soon cracked and destroyed 2 of them in a pothole so had to remove them. The car had a BBK 70mm throttle body, AEM V2 cold air intake, MSD ignition wires, a magnaflow high flow cat, ceramic dc sport header, and Apexi N1 catback exhaust. This is the car that I flipped over on York rd in Warwick township, PA going 120 mph. The wreck broke my back, neck and arm badly, causing me to be a paraplegic and have no feeling/movement from slightly above my belly button down. I am now perminantly in a wheelchair and cannot walk. I am still grateful that the car had a 4 star safety rating and did not killl me in the crash.Jul 02, 2008

Performance - The performance is excellent, very fast acceleration, handles like a dream, and the braking is decent. Buld Quality - I've only had the car for a couple weeks so i really don't know yet, but it sounds great! Appearance - It looks fabulous, and the inside is flippin sweet! Cost of Ownership - Great gas mileage, and maintenance wise just the basic tune ups every 3,000 miles or so. Fun Factor - This car is SO much fun to drive, mainly cuz its fast and the handling is awsome! And i wud totaly recommend this car to any one of my friends!Jun 27, 2008

35+ mpg says most of it. If you're looking for cheap, economical transport then look no further. Yes, there's body roll. Yes, you see them everywhere. Yes, it's somewhat lacking in the power department. But you forget most of this when you're passing people stopped at the pumps. Driving frugally I get about 35 mpg combined meaning a range of 350 miles on a tank. This competes with many modern hybrids. Maintenance costs for a car this old? Low since parts are everywhere and hardly anything will go wrong if you just keep up with recommended maintenance. A must have for a first car, a poor man's car, and everyone else not looking to look foolish in an SUV.Jun 10, 2008

Drove this car for abotu two years in high school, and now my little sister is driving it. I loved the manual transmission, and i never had any real problems with it besides the fact that the manual crank windows sucked. There just wasn't enough acceleration in it. It would have been decent acceleration for a passenger car, but just not enough for a sport car.Feb 15, 2008
