Fun To Drive, But Not Too Fast Or Comfortable. — The 97 GT is a typical mustang with its normal issues such as the tendency for the oil seal to break, its heavy and large front end, and its ancient solid rear axle. The car doesn't brake very well since it has smaller brakes than many of the cars in the same class as it, but it stops decently. the interior feels somewhat dated especially the center console I don't know who at Ford designed that part but they need to be fired. It does have a great deal of torque consider it is a bit lower on the horsepower front. The car is pretty easy and cheap to maintain and it will run well if maintained well. It's a fun car to drive and pretty decent on purchase price and maintenance, but it is small and handles poorly.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Quick, loud, cheap, fun to drive, low end torque, classic American car, respected name, cheap insurance.

Cons: Typical mustang problems exist, poor handling, typical mustang suspension, 4.6 is harder to work on than the 5.0

Love My Mustang — A wonderful year for Ford Mustang. I love the sleek and low design. The V6 was reasonably peppy and very reliable. That was mostly due to regular maintenance and the good car care from Yocum Ford. Did have to redo the wheels recently.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Love the style of this car

Cons: Seat coverings were fuzzy

Car Is Very Fun To Drive And "play" With — Being RWD the car has great handling in ideal conditions, has great braking, and being a V8 has great acceleration It is built great, it has typical noises that come with aging of a car The convertible top is a great plus in the appearane/style Gas mileage is typical of a V8 and maintenance is pretty average

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Extremely easy to spin tires with

Cons: Would love the car more if the gas was better

"funnest" Car I Have Ever Driven. — What I didn't like about this car is that when my gorgeous teenage daughter drives it she gets flirted with too much. My only other complaint is with the size of the trunk. It is deep but the opening is not very big.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: This car travels with ease over the Rocky Mts. I have never wished for more power.  In late autumn when it is too chilly to have the top down I put it down anyway, roll up the windows, and crank up the heat. Having the windows closed traps the heat in the front seat.  I do the same thing in the summer with the air conditioning when it is too hot.  This works great as long as you don't have passengers in the back seat.  You can't beat a convertible on a summer night with the top down, (also a great way to view fireworks).  I love this car but have to sell it because meds I am taking make me too sensitive to be out in the sun anymore. If I keep it I'll be too tempted to drive it in the daytime. I hope whoever buys it gets as much enjoyment from it as I have.

Cons: Legally you can only transport 4 people since it only has 4 seatbelts.

Great Car — i love my 97 its a great car has over 200k miles it still runs like a crap the body all beaten up but it wants under the hood that matters the V6 has good bit of power the car as a little bit leg room meaning not fat guys can drive it but that a good thing very little issues with it just all around great car

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: i love everything about it

Cons: need more cup holders lol

It Really Is Built Ford Tough — its ok in the preformance area. it could have some more power and torque but hey, thats what the gts are for. its pretty reasonable for a sports car that are presumed to be owned mostly by girls. the car is very fun to drive.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: i like that it is very cheap to maintain

Cons: i hate that my mom gets the oil changed every 3 months when she drives to atlanta 3-4 days a week

Good Daily Driver And Thats It! — This was a good car but slow! with catback exhaust, intake, and superchips programmer it ran a 14.9 1/4 mile.... it came with a T-45 5speed transmission, that BLOWS. they are known for syncro problems, i blew 2 transmissions out of this car, the first one lost second gear and the second one, in a race i broke the shift fork for 3rd and 4th gear! if you buy this car UPGRADE THE TRANSMISSION TO A T56!!!

Pros: great looking car! better for driving and not racing!

Cons: T45 transmission blows, and intake gaskets went out left and right in this car for me!

A Very Easy Car To Work On And Parts Are Fairly Cheap. Just Wish Mine Was In A Little Better Shape — My car is a 1997 and thats the first year of the 4.6 and don't think they had all the kinks worked out yet. Slowly I am fixing everything that was wrong with it when I bought it about a year and a half ago.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It is a fun car to drive with lots of torque.

Cons: First year model.

Its A Great Fun Car To Drive — its a great all around car but it could be a little faster. the 5 speed is a must and it has to have a nice sounding exhaust. another must is a different hood, cobra front bumper and different rims

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: it is very comfortable to drive

Cons: not fast enough
