I'm Pretty Sure This Car Tried To Kill Me About 3 Times. Reminds Me Of The Movie Christine! — This car tried to kill me around 3 times though. Our last (and hopefully final encounter) was when I was going around 55 miles down a highway at 8am (perfect morning traffic) and literally without warning my brakes just gave out (for the 3rd time in 2 years- 1st time it kept literally going over a hill, that I wasn't even parked on at a gas station, and it tried going up the hill straight into onto ongoing traffic.) Anyway so obviously I couldn't stop and was about to hit someone in front of me, I'm no fool- I pulled my e-break (which never fails right) it barely even slowed down!! If even at all! So I pulled it harder, and I got nothing! My only option was to veer off to the side of the hwy, and hit a pack of bushes! Scariest experience of my life. It wouldn't even let me turn the car off (because it was clearly still on, even though my e-break was pulled up all the way.) Those freakin' bushes saved my life.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great handling when making sharp turns. Awesome car for the spring and summer, makes you feel lighthearted and free.

Cons: Brake and electrical problems up the a**. Leaks!!! (electrical and brake problems started long before that though.) This car tried to kill me around 3 times though. (read below)

She's My Baby!! — I Love Everything About Her, Except The Water Leak! Men Always Had Their Over The Hills Thrills, and I Always Told Myself Ever Since The Beginning Of Time... I Would Own My Own Over The Hill Thrill! I Have Her!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The Color, The Convertible Top, The Handling, The List Goes On!

Cons: The Water Leaking.... But That Is An Easy Fix, Now That I Know Why It Was Doing It!

Handsome But Can't Dance — The 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXi is an attractive cruiser with a comfortable and well-appointed interior, but a lackluster engine, disappointing brakes and sloppy handling mar it's overall appeal. Comfortable also applies to the ride, though there is a tradeoff in poor handling at higher speeds. Brakes were spongy underfoot and pedal feel did not inspire confidence-stopping power was marginal at best. The uplevel V6 engine (up from a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder) was underwhelming in it's power delivery, although the optional Autostick might have mitigated any qualms with acceleration-power delivery was smooth at least, and the four speed electronically-controlled automatic shifted smoothly as well. Fuel economy was disappointing for such a small-bore V6, the 1997 Plymouth Voyager SE with the 3.0 liter V6 and three-speed auto that I owned while I owned this got better mileage on the freeway cycle. As long as you're not expecting to carve any canyons, and plan to just use it for it's intended purpose-looking good and comfortable cruising-you'll find much to like here.

Pros: Sports car looks
Nicely appointed, attractive and comfortable interior
Top worked well and sealed well, aside from a problem which is common for this car to have-the back window fell out

Cons: Sports car only applies to the looks
Brakes-for lack of a more diplomatic term-sucked big time
Power with the optional 2.5L V6 was lacking (my old '91 Escort LX with a 4 speed automatic could beat it)
Disappointing fuel economy from a small-bore V6

Bottom Line The Car Is Fun And Reliable, But It Could Use A Few Upgrades. — I really enjoy driving this car. It handles just as well as the sportier Avenger even though it's considerably heavier. It's a great summer car, put the top down and cruise around town. Just need to fix it up now and it'd be perfect.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun and sporty convertible

Cons: Pretty decent gas mileage unless you're using the air conditioning

Sebring — these older sebring are the best they made. such an incredible improvement finally over the old k car body. the handling is way above what you would expect. a more powerful V6 engine besides the 2.7 would have been great.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: handling, drop top, ease of used parts

Cons: small mitsu engines

Great Car Gets 30 Mpg — Auto Body project car, rims, paint job, stereo etc Just being in this car is cool red painted center consol banging stereo hurting your ears red rims that turn heads rolling down the highway and the clean body cuz of the shaved trim and moldings. car is hottttt!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: fun car to drive, looks good to

Cons: foreign motors suck to work on

Sebring Lxi — Good for driving arround town, but try to avoid going onto step drives as it sets really low to the ground. Pretty good on gas mileage if you keep your foot out of the pedal. Not really any back seat so dont carry to many people.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Two door Coupe

Cons: Too low to the ground

You Take Care Of Her, And She'll Take Care Of You. — Shes got 182000 miles on her and hasnt had any major repairs. It has slowed in the past few years but thats to be expected. Still drives smooth and gets a reasonable 25-27 mpg. I still handles great and if it explodes today I couldnt complain.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Its a 97 buy you wouldnt guess it!

Cons: Just about all the speakers are fried.

Electrical Is Going Fine — This car has got a beautiful style and a wonderful stereo. The seats are comfortable and made of leather. The only small problem are the huge consumption of fuel and the lack in accelleration. The size are impressive and thanks to this the luggage van is huge.

Pros: The wonderfull style and the wonderfull infinity stereo

Cons: the accelleration and fuel consumption
