Stylish, Sporty Alternative To A Honda Civic. — Sporty but not too fast economical but stylish car suited well for city and highway driving. An excellent commuter with 25+ combined MPGs. With a 4-cyl, this car wasn't too big a hit on insurance either. Bluebook way undervalues them though.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This car easily swallowed any cargo I could throw at it - the hatchback was an amazing plus.  The stick-shift and RWD made it fun to drive in every condition except snow and ice.

Cons: Lousy traction in snow.  BMW expense for parts and maintenance.  I hated the BMW maintenance lights and lack of a set maintenance schedule from manufacturer.  There were a few issues I encountered with build quality for interior components. Otherwise, it was generally reliable car.

Bmw 328is — Car has great performance, braking and handeling are outstanding, love the interior and exterior styling, other than regular maintenance no major repairs. Has to be one of the most fun cars I have driven to date, very comfortable and smoothe even at high speeds it feels so stable and effortless to drive.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: styling, fun to drive, great acceleration, braking, handling

Cons: Only thing I dont like are the tail light bulb sockets

Need For Fun ! — Handling is good, but the performance is adequate. Maybe I should change more powerful engine (for example M3 Engine). Beautiful sounds. I love to feel wind blowing into my face. Good car for the summer fun. This car has style. It makes me young again :)

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: I love it.

Cons: Too many kilometers behind.

Works Prefectly For What I Need — I wish it had a little more get up and go, but over all i really enjoy this car. I really like the shape of the car, and the extra wide tires make it stand out from the other BMWs around here.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: handling is great

Cons: slow off the line

A Great Alternative To The More Expensive To Run And Harder To Drive M3 — Great car, but if buying one be careful of manual gearboxes. Check for rattle when in neutral then clutch in. If there is a rattle on neutral which goes when the clutch is pressed walk away! Great fun to drive, good acceration, brakes and handles great. Standard one looks tame but sport model is best!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It handles like a dream once you are used to it

Cons: The low beams are terrible for country roads

If You Take Good Care Of It, Mmm It Will Be Ok. — mmmmmm,,,, it nice car not lokking sexy anymore yet it was very nice if we see it before 10 years. i got this car for very good price its fun to drive, like a toy, easy handling, not much power since its a V4 , but the nice thing about mine is that it got a manuel gear box, which gives it the advantage to play with it all the time,, my advice is : DO NOT DRIVE IT WHEN ITS RAINING!!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: good car

Cons: not much power

1996 Bmw 3 Series 318i — Performance: Strong. Felt more powerful than it is. Strong Mid range too. Brakes Good. Handles well. Bulid Quality: Good, as expected Appearance: Previous owner subtly modified it very nicely. Look great. Cost of Ownership: Can get 46MPG which is very good for what it is. Cheap insurance Fun Factor: Great fun, probably the best BMW 3 Series I have had

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Good Driving Position, good looking with the Mods, good sound, good image

Cons: Common, many haven't been maintained well and have mega miles

1996 Bmw 3 Series 328i — Peformance: Acceleration is good, only a 2.0 but 6 Cyl makes it torquier. Brakes are great, handles as well as the Coupe/Saloon. Build Quality: As always with BMW, good. Appearence: Lovely condition, estate model much rarer than the others. Also had the Rare half leather sports interior which looked great. Cost of Ownership: Just about noticably thirstier than the 4Cyl, but nothing shocking. Fun Factor: Great fun to drive

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Good on Fuel, Rareish, sporty

Cons: Estate isn't as practical than you would think. More of a Sports Estate

1996 Bmw 3 Series 318i — Performance: 1.8 16V (318is Coupe) isn't very powerfull, but is plenty fast enough. Brakes Strong, handles very well. Feels much lower and stiffer than the saloon. Build Quality: Good, as usual, one of the windows has fallen off its runner. Appearence: Very nice, I love the pillarless doors and M3 Replica Alloys Cost of Ownership: 46MPG on a run (supposedly) so good MPG and cheap to insure being only a 1.8 Fun Factor: Great fun to drive

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Economical, Reliable, Sporty, Good Drive

Cons: Most have been ragged and neglected, common

Buy One For Your Wife Or Kids — Great little car, 200,000 mile and still a fun car. stuff a M3 engine in it and look out EVERYONE! 4 cylinder is dependable and fun but needs more power for aggressive adrenaline junkies. Great car for kids. 30 mpg and like a go-cart.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: reliable, cheap, fun, mpg

Cons: low on power for racers and ......
