Good "beater" Car. — I like that I only paid $1200 for this car and that it is still going strong after over a year of my driving like a race car. Since I bought it I have only had to do one major repair and that was to replace the radiator and cooling fan motor.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Can haul a lot.

Cons: It is a station wagon...

Its An Ok Car — i love this car its nice when it drives good but it sucks when it acts like a baby and does not want to work right it a great car to drive but i would not trust it to drive a very long distance

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

1st Car — This was my very first car, I don't miss it one bit, I wasn't very attractive and it didn't handle very well, I was just glad I now own that car any more. I wouldn't recommend it for young drivers

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Where do i start

Nice Car From The Outside But Overall Not A Good Car — I had my 1995 Mercury Sable for about 1 Year so far I had to replace the tires once. The front brakes went. Plus it is a horrible High Way car and is terrible on gas. However it is a good around town car if you live in a small community.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good around town car

Cons: Bad Gas Mileage, Expensive Maintenance

Stable Sable —

This is my second Sable and overall I am impressed with how solid they are. The McPherson strut suspension gives it handling that most cars this heavy lack. It feels secure through corners and is very docile as you carve up the curves at insane speed. The 3.0L engine is a little underpowered for the car, not making any real speed until you pass 3000 rpm. The 3.8L motor feels strong, but still not quick. Both maintain speed well on the highway. The gear ratios in the transmission are definately designed for the highway driver. The best gas mileage is when you can get to speed and maintain a constant speed for a long time. On my 1995, I have four wheel antilock brakes and four wheel disc brakes. I upgraded my front brakes to the specifications of the V8 Taurus SHO (a simple rotor, caliper bracket, and brake pad swap; they use the same hubs and calipers) and this car has literally stopped from 40 mph in 20 feet or less. The interior is comfortable. Other than the radio controls next to the instrument cluster on the dash and the cardboard/velcro vanity mirrors, I have no complaints about the way the car is set up. This is the perfect car for long road trips; comfortable, efficent, and very forgiving of mistakes. I love it and I will buy another one after I drive the wheels off of this one.

Pros: Handling, Brakes, Gas milage

Cons: Heavy car, base 3.0L lacks torque to accelerate quickly.

Zach's Mercury Sable — makes a good first car although, the g8uy who sold it to us hid so many things, i would say that i mostly enjoy the 3.8 L V6 better gas mileage but only one step away from a V8

Pros: Good interior condition

Cons: A few Mechanical problems

Accels To A Stop — lot of weird noises, loose dashboard, weatherstripping coming apart. interior is different with the dashboard, volume controls next to steering wheel, pushed in dashboard on passenger side. exterior is ok, except for the covered rear tires and the light bar in the front

Pros: decent gas mileage

Cons: looks like a beater, runs like a beater
