Perfect — Handling is absolutely fun, very reliable, and fast, service cost is low, many genuine parts are available and for a low cost, I am very happy that I had a chance to buy this car and I am still driving it after 20 years. My car was entirely made in Germany, and the quality of workmanship is unparalleled by any means.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Reliable

Cons: None

My Dream Car — Performance - nice fast and good handling. Nice brakes. Build Quality - great quality. Appearance - Both interior and exterior is great. Best there is on the market. Cost of Ownership - a lot of gas goes there, but it's worthed. Not expensive maintenance. Fun Factor- Simply the best!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Best looking car ever made.

Cons: Noting.

A Joy To Own. — I loved this car in Aussie, I simply couldn't take a trip in it without smiling. If there was a "character" score in the ratings it would be off the charts. Beneath it's faded paint, ratty interior, and less than adequate power, was one of the most amusing, hilariously competent sedan chassis I have ever driven. Add a 12" sub to the mix and it became the ultimate wannabe thugmobile as well, which only added to my appreciation of this little bimmer!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: So much fun in such a small package!

Cons: Smelled like cigarette smoke... don't buy one with four empty packs in the passenger footwell :P

Perfect First Car — This car may be old but it the four cylinder engine made the car amazing at with fuel costs. The car is not very fast but never left me stranded even when it had well over 200,000 miles on it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Low fuel costs,  fun to drive, great handling.

Cons: Under powered

Priceless —

Well I haven't had it even a week yet: Performance Acceleration isn't too bad however it lags within the first few 1000 revs Handling is fantastic - even being a rear wheel drive which I'm not used to, this car does an amazing job of sitting on the road around corners and straights - I don't feel like I'm gonna bliksem out of control The brakes are sharp. very sharp and doesn't take long to come to a complete stop. Build Quality I live on a dirt road, and one does't feel a bump or squeak. its a smooth drive and I'm genuinely impressed - even for an 18yr old car! Appearance Its still a stock standard car and the quality of the leather and interior is beyond me. I had a Honda Ballade same year - the leather cracked very quickly - unlike the BMW's Cost of Ownership Look its expensive on gas - but what do you expect from that amazing engine? but yet I'm impressed with the manageability of its consumption! I haven't had any maintenance costs as yet - will be sure to elaborate once I do! The soft purr of the engine makes you feel like the silent type about to wipe out your competition!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: THIS IS AN AMAZING CAR AND i HAVE WANTED ONE FOR AT LEAST 15YEARS - AND I'M MORE IMPRESSED WITH ITS LUXURIES AND OVERALL STATS THAN EVER BEFORE! DEFINITELY WORTH DRIVING ONE AND FEELING LIKE A MILLION BUCKS! :P

Cons: NOTHING - can you believe that? However I would definitely want it to sound like it feels a bit more - however thats it! :)

Wish You Had A Better Car? —

I've had several cars now, but after my first, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS, I wanted to go around corners, AND go quick in a straight line. The BMW 3 answered my question with ease. Mine is FAR from new, and FAR from stock. Right now, 240,000 on the clock, running an M3 engine, Transmission, and Differential, along with custom suspension from Koni / TC Kline. Custom sways, custom links, poly bushings for the motor, trans, diff, front LCABs, RTABs, Delrin Diff bushings, solid mounts here and there.... On an E36, there is a multitude of parts that will fit the car and the driver perfectly, no matter your needs or driving style- and it's getting cheaper. I've had my baby for 10 years or so, and don't think shes gonna die soon... Interior is done the way I need it... Corbeau Seats in front, and Nappa leather ///M seats in the back, custom black headliner, A, B, and C pillars. Deck moved to the glove box, Cut out the glove box door, put in plexi, so the remote works.... Cut the cheap plastic sunglass holder tray so i could fit a 7" touchscreen for the TV, PS2, and Mini PC, glovebox holds the fullsize keyboard. Phone (HTC EVO 4G) connect to everything... Can record and download a song on the road, and take video of doing "Bimmer stuff" at the same time.... All in all, if I need another car, I might just go hunt out another low mileage one of these. I love the V8 sound of my Camaro, but the E36 sounds awesome with the custom OBD2 headers and CAT piping, and rear 3" Magnaflow system, so why waste money on gas? It's definitely the car for me- I <3 my E36!!! Need help or parts? I've got both, if you're in the SF Bay Area...

Pros: Ask anyone who knows me, or just see above.

Cons: Not much...I'm  pissed i have to weld up the front shock towers, but at a quarter million miles, i guess that's OK...

1994 Bmw 3 Series 324td — Performance: 2.5 TDS Good alrounder. Nice power surge from the turbo, about as quick as a 320i. Very Good for it's day. Brakes nice and strong. Handles well, big engine up front increases traction over front wheels. Build Quality: As expected of a BMW, suprisingly all the windows were on their runners though! Appearance: Still looked good despite age Cost of Ownership: Almost 50MPG and very cheap insurence. Fun Factor: Good fun, Especially working the turbo

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Cheap insurance and good on fuel. Still a good drive

Cons: Old now. Post '96 better built
