It Will Cost You A Lot Of Money But It Is Fun To Beat! — Money pit, Electrical nightmare! Fun to drive! Fast as hell! Sounded great with magnaflow cat back exhaust system. 5speed standard, clutch never went and I beat the piss out of it! driving around in 2nd gear bouncing the car off the rev limiter! Extreme down shifting, Did not use the brakes all too often! One night it rolled down the driveway in gear! plowed into the side of my girlfriends aunt's minivan. only broke the grill and the fog lights. caved in the side of the Chevy Venture! The coil pack went it was 300 dollars, the radiator hoses split and they are 75 dollars each. The engine no matter how hard I tried never quit, I would sit in parking lots with my foot to the floor, For so long the exhaust shot fire out of it! People behind me were always flashing their lights! On the highway at night in N.H. driving into the mountains, Down shifting to 2nd gear while already doing 50 to 60 MPH the exhaust would shoot blue flames! I had alot of fun beating this car into a pulp! Still ran at the end of it all, But their was nothing left! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Its black and its a 5 speed! Cons: expensive to fix, The color of the wires under the dash do not match up to what any other car would be, wiring in a stereo costed me alot of fuses lol! ![]() Looking for a Used Passat in your area?CarGurus has 5,437 nationwide Passat listings starting at $1,002. |

Love My Passat — it's quick and fun to drive...despite the fact that it is a V6 it's still really good on gas...i wish it was a 5 speed but for the deal i got beggars can't e choosers...and i also wish it had cupholders. overall though i love it and would buy another one (probably newer than what i already have...) and although it's a 90's car it still looks pretty new for what it is... Pros: fun, sporty, quick, comfy Cons: automatic |

1993 Volkswagen Passat Turbo Diesel — My parents purchased the car after I found it hiding in a garage one day while mowing. It had been sitting for 3 years enclosed in a garage. When I found it, the owner wasn't qutie ready to let go of it, but a year later it was ours for $500 It took a little coaxing to get it to run (A can of ether and a tow down the road) But it finally went, and it ran like it had never been sitting. It needed a bit of work though. Glow Plug Module was fried while trying to charge the battey/start it, Needed all the exhaust from the Turbo back. And a few parts under the hood. In October of 06 it went on the road. Whist driving it, we've gone through numerous wheel bearings, Control arms on both sides, new clutch, axles, alternator. A lot of things that had failed was becuase of sitting, and drying out. Most recently it got a new radiator, and Thrmostat Housing. It's an awesome car, handles like a European sports car, looks amazing for a 15 year old car and people don't mind asking you about it when you pull up to a diesel pump to fill it up! Pros: Fuel Economy, Handling, Roominess, Sweet Looks Cons: Acceleration, Cost of Parts, Peeling Clearcoat |

For Its Age, Awesome! — The car's great even in today's standards. The powerful VR6 engine has a nice punch (when its working properly), and it even has extras brand new cars fail to have. Pros: Awesome extras even for a 93. Cons: Pretty old, and being a VW pretty expensive to mantain. |

Good Gas Millage And It's A Vw So You Konw Its Reliable! — This '93 passat was given to us for $500 because the person who ownd it wanted to get rid of it! It wasn't in good working condition when we first obught it becuase it was sitting ina garage for 2-3 years so we had to sinka few bucks in it before we could even get it working! The passat is fully decked out it has an automatic Sunroof, automatic windows, seats that you cna adjust 3 differant ways, seat warmers, full dashboard components, arm rest in the middle of the backseat, a HUGE trunk big enough to fit 3 large hockey bags and it's a diesel!
Pros:
Diesel
Cons:
75 litre gas tank |
