If You Can Start It, Keep Your Foot In ! — Just remember WHY I bought this. It's sole purpose in life is to get me to and from the steelworks in a reasonably economical fashion. It has NO looks, it has NO appeal AND it's a FORD....... but the price was right.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: economy is better than my V8,V6, my 2.25 Landy and my diesel Pajero.

Cons: most things

Budget Fiestas! — a very basic no frills car, prone to rust (everywhere) even the top of the range for this year only gives you eleictric windows... so theres not many great points. if well mantained cen be very econimical, but to save a few quid you are sacrificing a lot, not very safe cars, and probably have the worst sucurity system known, with the standard ford any key (or screwdriver) will fit locks and an egnition that will break with a kick, basically the only thing that stops them getting stolen is that nobody wants to!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: very little!... but they are cheap!

Cons: all of it!

Ford Fiesta 1.1i Lx — My first car! Learnt to drive in it and had i for a year. Never broke down or cost me any money but they were pretty much the only good things i can say about it! Was slow, noisy, rattled, felt like it was gonna tip over round corners! Could do 90mph down really steep hills though!

Pros: It didnt break down?

Cons: Everything else

Ford Fiesta Xr2i — Just bought a 1993 Fiesta XR2i. Has a 1.8 16V engine, being a light car its pretty quick. Acceleration is very good, although not much of a top end. For a 15year old car which has done over 100K its in very good condition and the engine still pulls. A well built car, only problem is they rust round the petrol cap. Would recommend this car to anyone that likes old hot hatches, such as. Golf GTIs, and 205 GTis.

Pros: Acceleration

Cons: Brakes

Indestructable 1.3 Petrol Fezzy — This car is a genuine workhorse, can run for years with no maintenance as long as you accept that the body work is going to fall apart around you. The 1.3 petrol model i had never gave me a minutes trouble and i only paid £45 for it ! Bargain - i then sold it for £100 a year later wahey, i doubled its value in a year. Only with a fezzy. LOL

Pros: never died, kept me dry

Cons: Filler cap collapsed away from body as usual but i left it and it looked sweet - floating filler cap!

Ford Fiesta 1.8liter Diesel Van. — goes. stops. works. sounds like a transit van. curious as it has a cold air feed to the induction manifold. not sure if that was some aftermarket job, or if ford were hilariously planning a turbo charged version? dartford crossing toll people tried to charge it as a truck due to the lack of rear seats and windows. argued its the same size as a car, and they can either take the quid, or i'll sit there causing an obstruction.

Pros: works everytime. carries all my stuff up hill and down dale.

Cons: don't expect any street leetness with this one...

K Reg Ford Fiesta 1.3lx — 4th car bought from a neighbour for the sum of £300. I loved this car, my 1st car with electric windows, electric sunroof, bucket seats, big thick tyres with pepperpot alloys and central locking on a keyring.

Pros: Speed was fine. Not much spent on this car

Cons: In the end, the floor needing some welding, the central locking was playing up, the alarm/immobiliser was switching itself on then off.  Gave it to a friend for nothing to which he ended coming round to get me to help him drive round the street coz he didn't have a licence.

I like the fiesta, I had one in the past it is a reliable car. It looks good, it gets great gas mileage, and it is a FORD! I would compare this car to the Chevy Cruze, or the Honda civic. Read More
