It Like The Car It Is A Tank And Makes You Feel Secure When Driving. — the look of the car is not bad it is not rounded as the newer Tauruses and is a really heavy duty car. the backseats are very roomy with lots of head and leg room and very comfortable. The front bench seats are very nice with nice power seats and a nice stereo. The cars power is very nice with its 3.8L v6 car that gets better gas mileage than the other car I drove (a chevy astro van). Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: the car is very big and has front and back bench seating. very comfortable. the mpg is 18 city 26 highway. Cons: it does has regular braking so you may skid if you have to stand on the brake on wet road. ![]() Looking for a Used Taurus in your area?CarGurus has 3,594 nationwide Taurus listings starting at $995. |

Great Grocery Getter And Weekend Camping Getaway Vehicle — Great Cloth interior easy to keep clean, Hauling capacity is way beyond whats expected for a vehicle this size. Although the 3.0 engine could use a few more ponies, it gets where it goes..Bad Tranny at @ 60,000 miles since no problems.. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: Lots and lots of cargo area Cons: Seems to go through suspension components prematurely |

I Did Enjoy Owning This Car,......but Not Maintaining It. — The ultimate shag-wagon of the early 90s!! My red monster was notorious for the poor quality of Ford built transmissions. I replaced the transmission twice and when I purchased it used, it was on it's 2nd or 3rd already. But, the engine was still kicking just fine even after 158,000 miles as many Taurus owners can attest, that was the car's greatest asset. I loved my wagon most because of the space. I could haul around my whole quartet easily. The V6 was not very powerful and had abysmal mileage, but it got me where I needed to go. Overall, it was a fine little vehicle. Pros: Space........the final frontier. Cons: Just throwing money at the transmission the moment of purchase, it will desensitize you for when it blows up the first time. |

Decent Car... — It's not really a BAD car, just very old and really on its last legs. The engine runs pretty well but it doesn't like winter. It tends to be quite difficult sometimes on a cold morning. Transmission is still in decent shape, shifts relatively smoothly. Brakes are good, stops very well. Handles about like you'd expect for an older car. Not extremely sporty but I've flown around a few curves in it at pretty high speeds and it grabbed pretty nicely. Trust me I work my cars out pretty well, having formerly raced a lot. Car is built pretty solid, especially for its age. It has some rust but not horrible. As for the appearance, HA, yeah, it's pretty ugly. It was wrecked pretty good in the back and the roof is missing some paint. Plus, older Tauruses were ugly anyway. Gets horrible gas mileage, I'm estimating around 12 mpg highway. Comes from being horribly out of alignment and the engine having an intermittent misfire. Maintenance is fairly expensive since it likes to burn oil and always seems to have some other problem going on. Still a pretty fun car to drive though, with a nice 3.0L V6 under the hood. Not anywhere near the best I've ever driven but still entertaining sometimes. Pros: Runs decent for its age Cons: Getting old and grouchy |

Parts! — expensive parts, rare parts, .....did i mention expensive parts? Performance is awesome, yamaha built the 3.0L V6. its rated at 249 hp but most dyno tests reveal about 225 or so, redline is set at 8,000 RPM which is nice, an awesome powerband between about 2500-7200 is due to secondaries that open up a different set of runners providing awesome mid range torque and horsepower. The one weak point in the car is the mazda designed transmission (MTX-IV) its not designed for a 3500LB car...or a 250 HP motor. Overall though they are addicting cars, I love mine and will never sell it, when parts stop being available there is always the machine shops! Pros: Performance Cons: Price |

I Love My Car So Much!!! — Its good on gas, fast, good looking, and a dream to drive! It's very solid build quality even with the crazy torque! The 5-speed manual is smooth shifting even if it does have longish throws. The brake and gas petal are very responsive, the steering is also solid and quick. The car is extremly well balanced and with its thicker meatier tires can take corners amazingly and acts kind of like a RWD sports car! The engine is the most amazing part though and makes you want to do naughty things all day in the drivers seat while listing to the incredible exhust note and the amazing power from the 3.0 Liter 24 Valve DOHC Super High Output 220 HP V6 screaming to its 7000 rpm redline!!! Incredible!!! The car is very well equiped too, especially for a 17 year old car!! It has many features that some newer cars still don't even have yet!! Pros: Its good on gas, fast, good looking, and a dream to drive! It's very solid build quality even with the crazy torque! Cons: Mine personaly was not very well taking care of by the previous owner, but i will fix all its flaws. |

I Loved This Doomed Car — The Ford Taurus SHO was an amazing car for it's time. Comfort, practicality, and off-the-wall performance for a decent price. Amazing car, but mine developed some vicious electrical problems, and was sold as a parts car a few months after buying it. I drove it halfway across Canada in the short time I owned it, and loved it Pros: Looked good, comfortable, and fast as hell Cons: VERY expensive to fix and broke frequently |

I Mean, I Ran The Thing On Almost No Oil For Like 3 Months. Ha. — Indestructible engine, entirely destructible interior. Not well taken care of by the time I got to it, so the trend continued. Pros: Couldn't kill it. Cons: Could hardly drive it. |
