Few changes were made to the 1991 Dodge Monaco LE. The roomy four-door sedan packed a nice little punch with its 3.0-liter, 150-hp V6. It got a few new standard features this year, though still basic for a family car. These included a center and overhead console, intermittent wipers, and tinted glass (in addition to the already available power braking and steering, rear defroster, and cloth seats.). A radio was standard, but cassette player optional.
A new option in the 1991 Monaco LE was ABS brakes. Other options, such as power windows and locks, power driver's seat, roof rack, cruise control, air conditioning, and power mirrors, remain the same. Owners love the power of the V6 and the comfortable handling and quiet engine, that make for a smooth ride. Most complaints are mechanical-related.

For a full-size sedan that seats five comfortably, plus has enough creature comforts and engine power to make long trips enjoyable, the 1991 Dodge Monaco ES fills the bill. With the same 3.0-liter, 150-hp V6 engine as the LE, the ES upgrades with more interior amenities. These include power heated mirrors, leather trim on the steering wheel, air conditioning, automatic climate control, and a cassette player. Outside, 15-inch wheels and a special touring suspension give a crisper, tighter, smoother ride.
Like the LE, options include keyless entry, cruise control, power driver's seat, and ABS brakes. Options unique to the ES are a trip computer and lighted entry. The extra comforts are an added bonus for owners, who already love the Monaco for the way it hugs the road and handles like a much smaller car. Its engine power provides much needed acceleration on the highways. The big negatives are repair problems, often with the electrical system.
