Man's Best Friend — This car will go ANYWHERE! really, for a 4 cylinder this 4x4 does it all easily. When you get REAL extreme you might dump oil into the top end of the 'little boxter' and it will smoke for a minute, but other than that, I'll never drive another car as long as I can maintain one of these things. With the switch, you save a lot of gas by not driving around in 4wheel or ALLWHEELDRIVE. A LOT!!!!!!!!!!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: no road that cannot be conquered

Cons: dont make them anymore

Looking Forward To "passing It On" To The Fourth Generation! — I am the third generation to drive my little red subaru....FREE! Gotta love that! I do not believe they make cars so well anymore-to last 20 years! 229,000 miles on rebuilt motor. Runs like a champ...rattles here and there, not that pretty without makeup (armorall) but reliable, sound, fun and inexpensive!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable, sound, fun

Cons: rattles and knocks but keeps on tickin'

1990 Subaru L Series Wagon 4wd — Performance is what you would expect from a 1.8 litre carby motor. Pretty slow and acceleration isn't fantastic. The interior is ok, not great but does the job. I like the display in the guage cluster, shows which door is open etc. Cost me $1800 and i bought an aluminium bullbar and the sunraysia's for a further $1450. Pretty fun to drive, and hopefully lasts me a while.

Pros: Practical and good milage. Fun to drive. Overall good thrashabout.

Cons: Slow and poor acceleration

My Very First Car, Which Was Excellent. — Blue wagon, drove very good!! It was fast, comfortable, small but had enough space for people and cargo. Had a lot of buttons inside for everything.

Pros: Speed!!

Cons: The OWNER!!  Messed transmission several times because of my driving.

Got this car for $200. Use it to run circles around SUVs when it snows. Not as refined as newer Subes, but I do appreciate this last incarnation of "old school Subaru", you know, where the spare tire... Read More
