The 1990 Dodge Monaco LE is the base model of the two trims offered, though the two trims don't differ greatly in standard features and options. The four-door full-size sedan LE is powered by a 3.0-liter, 150-hp V6 and 4-speed automatic. Manual is not available. Standard features are basic -- 14-inch wheels, power steering and brakes, and rear defogger, center console, and reclining front bucket seats.
But you can pay extra for a lot of options, including power windows and locks, leather seats, air conditioning, alloy wheels, power driver's seat, trip computer, and power sunroof. With these options, most drivers find the 1990 Monaco LE comfortable to drive and love its roominess, especially for long trips. The engine is peppy enough, but owners wish for better gas mileage, which is only about 17/26 mpg.

The 1990 Dodge Monaco ES is a four-door full-size sedan that is affordable and easy to drive for its large size. A huge trunk and seating area make it ideal for family purposes. The 1990 ES has a 3.0-liter, 150-hp V6 engine and 4-speed automatic, just like the LE. It does not offer many more standard features than the LE, but does have air conditining, power exterior mirrors, 15-inch wheels, and a cassette player. Options include power windows and locks, power driver's seat, alloy wheels, cruise control, keyless entry, power sunroof, leather seats, an upgraded audio system, roof rack, and trip computer.
Owners praise the easy precise handling of the 1990 Monaco ES and the loads of interior room. Repair woes and costly parts are its major drawbacks.
