1987 Mitsubishi MonteroReview

Fun Little Project Screw Around With Type Thing. — Performane, um, it moved under its own power. Other then that, not really. It was under powered. A carbed 4 cylinder, topped out at 70ish in 4th gear, if I shifted into 5th i slowed down. But the 4 wheel drive worked great, which was plenty of good fun. It was built solid, interior leaked from somewhere but that was the biggest issue. It was like small tank. Looked funny though. kinda like a jeep meets range rover thing. costs was high but not too bad. it got around 14ish mpg. It was a blast to drive though. great 4 wheelin truck. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Its fun to just mess around in. Cons: Its a piece of junk. nothin fancy or particularly nice cept that its small, cheap, and is 4x4 ![]() Looking for a Used Montero in your area?CarGurus has 29 nationwide Montero listings starting at $4,950. |

A Pretty Fun Car — This car is a fun car to own. The appearance of the car is kind of boxy and a little bit top heavy but it also looks fine. it is a pretty comfortable little can and is fun to drive. There are just the normal blind spots of a boxy car. It is hardly worked on and the gas mileage is definitely fair. The acceleration is kind of sluggish but it goes. Braking and handling are fine. I also feel safe and in control driving this car. This car is very fun to drive Pros: Very reliable, different looking, looks a little bit like a Japanese Jeep, 4x4 works great, fun, fuel efficient Cons: Can be tricky fixing on certain things |
