1982 Toyota Supra Review
says:
Performance model Supra with excellent front seats. This model has a little less HP, & just 14 wheels. It doesnt appear to have a sun roof. Exterior appears to be in good condition.

"The later models had an increase in engine size with more HP, but unsure which year, except the 85 had the larger engine. Unsure which years included the Turbo option."

"Actually, the 82 to 86 Celica Supras handled about the same, except for HP."

Great Sports Car — 1jz-gte twin turbo engine swap.. mapped to 340bhp using microtechlt-10 micro controller, 3inch hi flow exhaust, up- rated injectors and torson diff to control the power, pulls like a train but can be hard to find parts when things go wrong

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: When its sideways

Cons: no luggage room

Looking Forward To Many Year — A dream come true! Pity about the colour, but it ticks all of the other boxes! Goes well for a car out of 1982, certainly not quick by todays standards though! Great fun to drive, amazingly small cabin for such a large car and combined with the low seating position makes for a fun drive!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Very cool old-school ride!

Cons: I'm dreading tracking down parts in the future!

Supra — I loved that car and wish I could find another one to fix up and drive. It went really fast and was way ahead of it's time. It was bult pretty solid especially with what I put that car though.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Everything

Cons: The cost of the tires and the transmisson going

I Own One, That Speaks For Itself. — My supra is modified with an '87 7m-ge motor and a turbocharger from an 89 supra. The suspension is all aftermarket with the exception of the rear swaybar which is custom built. Brakes are original '82 calipers with slotted rotors from wilwood. All that being said I love this car and plan to contiue building it into the realm of lunacy until it blows up or kills me. The look, feel, and styling of the car are all unique. This car is what it meant to be a cool car in the early 80's, and with the 3.0l swap it can keep pace with most of todays showroom imports. Overall the most amazing thing I've ever owned.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Fast, good feel, lots of trinkets, amazing styling for the year, it has a dragon on it from factory so you know it's badass.

Cons: Gas mileage, hard to find parts, lots of rust issues in most cases.

If You Can Find One, Buy It! For The Power They Put Out Stock They Are Worth Every Penny. — This is a drift ready inline six with dohc and little weight in the rear. off road drifting is a breeze with the lotus designed steering. If you want to charge up a hill doing 120 in 3rd gear with alot of revs left, then this is the car for you!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: excellent controll, great drift car!

Cons: rust, rust, rust! unibody rusts out in the rear!

Great Car, Turns A Lot Of Heads. — I got this car in 1982 and put over 100K miles on it in about 6 years. I let it sit in a garage until the end of 2006, it is now my pet project. After some work on the engine (tune up, fuel injectors, timming belt fuel tank and pump) it runs like a top. I still get the same feeling I had driving it back in the 80's.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Low maintenance, great ride

Cons: Top end speed

Toyota Supra — Fell in love with it right away. Performance was not what I expected though. I guess it only had 140 hp and it was a heavy car. The seats were brutal. They were narrow and HARD. Still it looked great and had typical Toyota quality. Lasted almost 20 years before it finally rusted away.

Pros: sharp looking - even today

Cons: narrow seats

Cheap 80s Rear Drive Fun. — Reliable 80s sports car that set performance bench marks in its day. It's appearance has dated, and it's prone to head gasket failures due to improperly torqued heads, but this can be fixed simply after acquisition.

Pros: Responds well to modifications, fun rear wheel drive chassis, electric everything

Cons: 80s Styling, underpowered, two door
