Very Good For Trips — Don't buy one unless you are planning to update everything for performance. :) Build quality is pretty bad. the appearance is not so good. Cost of ownership is not bad for the size of car and parts are pretty cheap. Fun factor is pretty high. Lots of space and great for trips. Strange but for the age, it's a little reliable. Needs little repairs here and there and most of them are easy to do.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Space

Cons: Needs TLC

1982 Lincoln Town Car Review
says:
Very smooth, quiet, comfortable American boat with the numbest steering around (the type of steering car journalists knock cars for but I love that about these older large American cars and fuck people that only see this as a negative, my 3 series BMW is a blast in the canyons with steering that allows the driver to feel sand on the road but on a long highway drive numbness is superior). The seating and suspension in this car make it feel as if you were driving a leather sofa around (without the end tables) and the car accelerates about as quickly (you need a Julian calendar to record the 0 to 60 mph times) yet there is still enough torque to handle the steepest highway grades and maintain 70 no problem. Parts are cheap and it’s a simple car to repair. Speaking of repair, due to the early 80s policy of UAW workers, all cars had to be built by morons that went out of their way to avoid quality, not that the car breaks down often its more along the lines of fit and finish, you be adjusting everything and under the hood once a week tuning, tightening, checking, etc. This cars styling is unique and at times I enjoy driving a car that is square among the sea of eggs and jelly beans, the car does get noticed for that reason along with the fact that these have suddenly become rare to see. This car can be easily and cheaply “hot rodded” and the only way I would ever own one personally was if my plan was to do this, remember this car is huge and somehow was allowed to leave the factory with a 5.0L V8 that makes a maximum of 140 horsepower... that is one hell of a big drawback especially since it still drinks fuel the way one would expect any V8 to do.
