1974 Toyota Celica Preview summaryImage

The Toyota Celica saw its first major change in 1974, with the addition of the Celica GT to the lineup. The GT differed from the ST mostly in looks only, with racing stripes and chrome-trimmed wheels. The 1974 Celica GT also came with a five-speed manual transmission.

The 1974 Toyota Celica GT came with a two-liter, four-cylinder engine, and the ST was available with the 1.6-liter. The ST was available with a four-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic.

The 1974 Toyota Celica earned fans with its sporty appearance, particularly the new GT model. Drivers found the car fun to drive, but was still a well-made Japanese car. Today, the cars are still popular among racing and customizing enthusiasts.

It is very well built, the paint stayed good for 36 years. Right now mine has been wrecked, so it is in the process of being repainted and all the body work done in my vocational school. No mechanical problems after all these years, so you know Toyota cared about quality. It is a 5-speed manual, which makes it a ton of fun to drive. Definatly a head-turner! Sep 08, 2010

My First car. Gave it ever living hell. It just kept on running. I even done some Dukes of Hazzard stuff in it. Even got my 1st 2 speeding tickets in this car. Didn't do much to but put a cassett player and some seat covers in it.May 28, 2009
