Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

Like all AMG cars, the SL55 AMG is sold in limited quantities and is designed as a high-performance version of the more standard cars available in the SL-class. The SL55 AMG is not, however, as rare as it once was: prior to 2003 only about 300 cars in the SL-class were customized by AMG.

Between 1998 and 2001, the SL55 AMG was sold with the R129 body style. Since then, the car has been built on the R230 platform.

Since 2004 the SL55 has been built with a 5.5 liter V8 engine. The 24-valve power plant produces 476 horsepower in its most recent incarnations.
