It's A Mercedes! — Good daily driver, reliable & fun. Not so good on snow or ice though. Plenty of power but gas mileage (using Premium) is not the best. Good touring comfort. I really like the turning radius - much better than my Jag. Great classic style.

Beautiful Lines All The Comfort For 2seater Convertible — hartop to put on or off is a pain- other than that it is sporty, comfortale and safe with all luxuries - beutiful clean lines without hartop - everyday and all year around driver - fun to drive and still after 20 years an eye catcher

Enthusiast Specal — Body style is handsome and timeless. Handles tight corners with confidence and the removable hardtop to soft top versatility affords a rich driving experience. Resale value and prestige are both high. Driving the Mercedes 500SL is almost as much fun as owning one.

It's My Toy! - Girls Need Toys Just Like Boys Need Toys. — The car is absolutely wonderful. It's beautiful, runs like the wind and oozes with grace and elegance. Requiring premium gas and a top mechanic for everything, it's not cheap to maintain, but for sheer delight and fun -it's the best ever.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

A Beautiful And Powerful Road Machine — The 1992 Mercedes500SL Convertable Roadster is an awesome car to own. If you want heads to turn while you are passing by or at a stoplight,This is the car to own . Repairs can be pricy but if you can afford one ,it is a good investment.

Good Looking Classic Mercedes — Comfortable car to drive. Classic looks and enough power to keep you out of trouble. Great car for top down driving (except winter). Removeable hardtop for winter season. (But does take 2 to put on-take off.) Does require premium gas & mileage is not the best.

Wish I Had Always Owned This Car (i Started Driving In 1965). — Of all of the cars I have owned, the performance, looks and fun factor are all contained in the 1994 Mercedes SL500. It is a solid car with no squeaks or rattles. It averages about 20 mpg, which is it's only down side (especially since it requires Chevron's top gas). Maintenance is limited to oil changes, which are pricey, but with synthetic oil, lasts for 7,000 miles. With a removable hard top, this car rocks! It is also extremely safe because of its speed (easy to get out of tight jams) and handling.

It Wont Bother You If The Stock Market's Up Or Down — you dont mind sitting at red lights in this car. doesnt make the loud music of its V8/V12 brothers but so what...it's the quiet samurai of the trio. more the personality of a rolls or bentley. I'm buying an old F150 to drive when it's raining so the SL stays dry.

Pros

Its looks, it's sweet-as-cream and tough-as-nails, and how quickly you feel you cant live without it.

Cons

Maybe those who want more power and a few more bells and whistles.

The 129 Is The Culmination Of Its Predecessors And The Birthright Of Its Successors. — Classy car that defers to no other. Okay, it's not as fast as the 500 but of all the 129's its the SL with the original personality of its predecessors. It's Bruno Sacco at his finest, and attracts attention moving or not. This is what $84,000 bought in 1994.
