Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had fuel pump replaced 3 times in the
last month. The staring issue has not gone
away. I only paid for the first one but still feel
taken advantage of. Its not my battery, its
not a spark issue, its a fuel issue of some
sort. Anyone have any advice? I don't want
to pay someone else to take advantage. I
just want to pay for the actual problem.

Were the other pumps bad? What did the mechanic say about them? Did you have the fuel filter replaced too?

I was told the fuel filter was internal in the pump and they did not mention the pumps being bad. They just wanted eliminate the problem.

So the actual problem has to with hard starting? Tell us about that. Is the check engine light on?

She starts sparodically sometimes she starts right up and others she doesn't want to at all. There is no rhyme or reason. Today when I took it back to the shop they hit the fuel tank with a rubber hammer and gassed it while starting and she started. No check engine light now, but have had it in the past. The codes pulled had to do with temp sensor??

They told me if she acts up again to gas while starting and good luck. I feel defeated and don't know who to turn to. I watched a YouTube video on how to cut a whole in the back floor board to get to an external air filter. I called auto parts stores and they all told me its a non serviceable part??

Yeah but now I have to pay someone else to actually fix it.Thanks for the info.
