Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My hood release cable is broken. My handle inside
is off the cable as well. I've tried pulling on the
cable and all I hear is a clicking sound up around
the driver side headlight. How do I get the hood
open?

Have someone push and pull up and down on the hood to see if it'll release, if not, try jacking car up and see if u can reach cable from under car or through the front grill

I have the same problem in my 2006 Passat Value Edition. Taking front emblem out I can see mechanism, but do not see cable attached. Still can't get it to release. Any answers would be helpful.

I have a similar issue ‘06 VW Passat hood latch is stuck or the cable is broken. When pulling the release latch on the driver side there is a noise of the mechanism but no tension pulling the latch. I popped the VW front emblem I’ve lifted the car to try to reach the cable but on see sensor wires. Car is driving but can’t access the battery to jump it. Someone help please need to open this hood to drive the car.
