how do i fix my interior hood release lever

i have a 2006 vw passat 3.6 and i pulled the lever inside the car to release the hood adn
nothing happened .. the lever seams loose so in assumeing the cable snapped inside .. i
need to get inside to change the oil .. ive tryed to find videos on how to fix this but thay
all seam to be aboeu the hood release on the front of the car . any help would be much
apreciated !!

I apreciate the response but this really doesent help me .. I no I can use vise grips to pull the cable .. But I don't no how to get to it

if its broken under the hood you will need to go underneath the car look up to where the hood latches and reach up you should be able to put your finger into where the latch release is or to see the plastic cable.you will feel a lever and you need to pull it towards the drivers side, Have a flashlight with you.

You have to get it open first in order to replace the cable...its an easy job to replace...
