I need help fixing a door handle on a 96 chevy c1500 truck.?So I was at school the door was unlocked and i could not open the door. it was jammed because the metal rod that goes inside was loose for some reason. My question is since im having issues reattaching the rod into the door handle grip. are there two rods or is there only one rod. because i only have one with red rubber on the bottom.

One to the handle. One to the lock. Look on the bottom of the door for missing parts.

Look online at "LMC" Parts, look up your truck and see what parts you need or are missing. With the age of the truck I would replace all plastic pieces that go to the door rods and their attachment to the handle and locking mechanism.
