what is wrong with my car

Asked by Guru9P2Y87 Jul 04, 2022 at 06:31 PM about the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze

Question type: General

i have 2017 chevy cruze that has about 90,000 miles. recently the car has
been giving me trouble. when i try to start it it sounds like the battery is dead it
takes about 4 or 5 tries then it starts up and seems to be fine the messages
that appear are service stabilitrak, battery is low start car, battery saver is on,
and the engine light is on sometimes it goes off but for the most part its on,
after parking the car and taking the key out it feels very hot. i have taken it to
a mechanic and they can not figure it out. hopefully you can give some insight

Two possible issues. Your battery is starting to go bad or your starter could be going bad. Most of the time its a bad battery. If the car is turning over (when you turn the key to start) very slow then most likely battery.

Time for a different Tech, this really sounds like a borderline battery but due to the year the entire charging system needs checked as it is a computer controlled system. I am concerned that the check engine light is on continuously, this indicates a hard fault and as you stated it seems hot it could be early stages of catalyst melt down.

Ecotech engine not good engineering anyway you got your use out of it, you will spend a metric shit ton of cash to fix it. Engine will just quit one day w no warning and lose compression 90k trade it while it runs. Best advise engine replacement varies 4500-6000k for a solid Ecotec. I do two of these Ecotech gm vehicles a week. Last Cruze was right at 91k the other 101k customer went to start it from overnight no compression t chain tentioner. End of engine.
