What’s New for the 2027 Kia Sportage Hybrid
The Kia Sportage Hybrid moves into the 2027 model year with new front-wheel-drive (FWD) versions of its base S and EX trim levels. There’s also a new Technology Package for the X-Line trim, which features a Harman Kardon audio system, a driver’s memory seat, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with braking, side parking sensors, and Kia’s Highway Drive Assist semi-autonomous system. These updates follow a more comprehensive refresh for the 2026 model year, which included updated exterior styling, a new dashboard and steering wheel, a slight bump in horsepower, and a couple of new trim levels.
Design
The Sportage Hybrid is a compact SUV with a fresh, modern look, and the 2026 facelift brought it into line with the brand’s current upscale look and feel. Highlights include angular lighting, a textured grille, bold haunches, and sporty-looking alloy wheels. The base Sportage Hybrid gets 17-inch wheels, but 18- and 19-inch designs are available or standard with higher trim levels.
Powertrain
The Sportage Hybrid features a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, good for a combined 232 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. That hearty torque figure aids acceleration off the line, and a six-speed automatic transmission provides smooth shifts. The 2027 Sportage Hybrid is estimated at 40 mpg city, 42 mpg highway, and 41 mpg combined with FWD, and 35/36/35 mpg with AWD.

Interior
The Sportage Hybrid has a bright, airy cabin with a modern design and smart details, such as an abundance of soft-touch surfaces. Like most vehicles in this class, there’s seating for five across two rows. There’s also enough front headroom and legroom for tall drivers, and a good range of seat adjustment. The second-row seats offer plenty of space and can also be reclined, but the panoramic sunroof slightly reduces headroom. Standard features include cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats, while options include power-adjustable front seats, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, and synthetic leather upholstery. The Sportage Hybrid’s cargo area holds 39.5 cubic feet, which opens up to 73.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
Technology
The Kia Sportage Hybrid features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen integrated into a single display across the dashboard, giving the Sportage Hybrid a distinctly premium vibe. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker audio system. Options include wireless charging, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, and a smartphone-based digital key.
