The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is a functional and efficient compact SUV. It has plenty of cabin space, helpful infotainment features, a long list of standard safety features, and of course, a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid version of the RAV4 was introduced for the 2016 model year. In 2019, it was completely redesigned, and for 2022, Toyota has updated the headlight design and added the SE trim to the lineup. The RAV4 provides up to 69.8 cubic feet of cargo space and 37.6 cubic feet with the rear seats folded up.
Trims for the RAV4 Hybrid are LE, XLE, SE, XLE Premium, XSE, and Limited. The base LE comes with 17-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, remote keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights, satellite radio, three USB ports, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The touchscreen has an intuitive layout and includes Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and Android Auto.
The XLE trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, push-button start, remote keyless entry, two additional USB ports, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The SE trim’s list of features is similar to the XLE’s, but it includes unique black wheels and a sport-tuned suspension.
The XLE Premium features 18-inch alloy wheels, a power liftgate, a power moonroof, and synthetic leather upholstery. Wireless device charging and an 11-speaker premium stereo are options on the XLE Premium.
Moving up to the XSE adds the sport suspension from the SE trim. The XSE stands out with gloss black wheels and a gloss black roof. Inside, it adds unique blue accent stitching to the seats, heated front seats, and a larger 8-inch touchscreen.
The Limited is the range-topping trim. It adds the 11-speaker premium stereo as standard equipment, as well as navigation and a power-adjustable front passenger seat. A hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats are all optional.
The RAV4 Hybrid utilizes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors to deliver a combined 219 horsepower, routed through a continuously variable transmission. One of the electric motors powers the rear wheels, providing standard all-wheel drive. There is also a plug-in version of the RAV4 Hybrid, called the Prime, which is covered in a separate review. The RAV4 Hybrid returns fuel economy of 41 mpg city, 38 highway, and 40 combined.
There are multiple drive modes in the RAV4 Hybrid, including EV Mode, Sport Mode, and Trail Mode. The SE and XSE both feature a sport suspension to add a more engaging drive to the hybrid.
The Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver-assistance features comes standard on the RAV4 Hybrid. This collection of safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and traffic-sign recognition. Available driver-assistance tech includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree surround-view parking monitor, and adaptive headlights that pivot with the steering wheel.
Base MSRP for the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is $29,075. The XLE starts at $30,545, and the SE starts at $31,730. The XLE Premium has a starting price of $33,435, and the XSE starts at $35,055. The range-topping Limited has a starting price of $37,575. Toyota backs the hybrid components with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty and the battery pack with a 10-year/150,000-mile warranty.

Hybrid is useless for anyone!
It’s huge money waste on rav4 hybrid. You will never go on hybrid mode that works only under 30 miles. It always finds a way ti escape hybrid mode. Of course you still see a 5 more mpg compared to other models. In my view when you pay almost 8 to 9k more this 5 extra mpg does not make sense!
I sold my brand new car just in couple months just to avoid the extra unnecessary monthly payments for hybrid features.
Noise is reduced a bit in hybrids, is the only advantage you see. But even on the new xle premium regular you won’t see much noise in 2022 models on freeways at all!

I’ve looked at this car in Hybrid and in gas to see what made more sense. Even if the excitement is owning a hybrid it might not be the smart buy. Food for thought.
1) what percent Highway and what percent city driving do you do.
2) what is the difference in cost for the same car hybrid vs gas.
3) I found the cost as of this date can be as much as 10,000 dollars.
That buys a lot of gas if you go gas over hybrid . Unless someone can prove me different I believe gas is the smarter unless 70% of your driving is around town. But with great mileage even without a hybrid I believe gas is the smarter buy. Now if you want to safe the world and impress your neighbors then go with the hybrid. Thanks for asking.

The 2020 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid has been an excellent car to own for several reasons:
It is spacious, powerful, gets superior gas mileage, is economical and reliable.
I would enthusiastically recommend it if you need to get a used car.
I am now in the market for a newer vehicle and I must seriously consider getting a newer model sports utility.
